They went up easily with some small cup hooks I have. I remembered to press the button on the back of the solar panel so they would charge, and they worked perfectly. One tip - and this is true, I think, of all string lights with screw-in sockets - check the bulbs to make sure they are firmly screwed in. Otherwise a few may not light up. Once I had mine tightened, all worked and they put out a very nice light.
