No, but you can put your arms in either way to be open in the front or back and pull sides closed like a bathrobe without zipper, buttons etc.

Will it fit someone who is a xxl?

No it will not!!! I am not sure how others think it fit an xxl. I am not an xxl and it doesn’t even come close to wrapping around.

Is it too big for a 12 yr old

I would not buy this for a 12 year old- it is a poor imitation of a real Snuggie - the dimensions are way off with a super long body and very short arms, also has a robe-like opening in the front with no tie. Not At all as advertised. My recommendation- but straight from Snuggie and avoid the scam.
