I had purchased a wd my passport hard drive before and I got to tell you that it performs very poorly as far as games and speed is concerned. When I compared that drive with toshiba canvio gaming the toshiba drive beats it by miles. Transfer speeds are fantastic(upto 147mb/s read/write) and good response times even on 100% read loads(around 5.3ms) compared to wd my passport max 110mb/s read/write and 8.9ms max load read response time(can be checked on task manager when reading files).In general day to day usage it loads games twice as fast and transfers files twice as fast as other normal drives and it's performance can be noticed while opening and running games, transferring files, downloading files etc. It has a blue led on the right side which looks quite shiny and cool but initially you may find it bad to look at since it's unconventinal and the led is a little big. The build quality and design are perfect. It heats up a bit during intensive loads but you can't feel the heat as the upper portion is made up of smooth material where heat doesn't flow(and is good to touch), the bottom part is where it gets warm(though usually not concerning).I had found out that wd my passport has hardware encrytion by default hence the reason for slow speeds. I also compared toshiba canvio gaming to wd blue desktop drive and it outperformed that too on the basis of core speed and consistency of same speed. Wd drives get slow over time(in a year or so) and when they are put under load their speeds vary very highly, usually they give around max 80mb/s on high workloads with speeds dropping to 23 mb/s every now and then but with toshiba canvio gaming the speeds are consistent anytime you use the drive. Based on looks, design, speed and speed consistency i would recommend the drive to gamers and normal users since its costs the same as other drives and performs much better than them.One problem which you may face with this drive is that it sleeps very fast and sometimes while downloading games online hard drive may go to sleep and only wake up if you wake up your computer(your computer goes to sleep normally when hard drive goes to sleep and based on your settings) and this may cause you problems. One way to fix this problem is to disable "allow windows to put this device to sleep" in your device manager settings(usb device settings,find your device). You can also find how to prevent your drive going to sleep online. I faced this problem only once but it's pretty bad so make sure you disable that option to make the best use of your drive.

Was expecting this to have a USB type port or at least a C type port, but the port this HD uses, I have never seen in my life before. Seems so primitive and if I loose that wire given with the product, I might not get the same wire again.Otherwise the product is amazing and works pretty fast so far.

I am using it with my Apple Macbook. It works wonderfully with the Mac. Its adapter is suitable for the Mac and its file format is also aligned to Mac. The usage and compativility with Mac is seamless.

Good quality

Before buying this item, I checked previous customers review and someone wrote the data transfer speed upto 120gb/sec but actually data transfer speed 25~30mb/sec only. And there is no password protection options... Please tell the truth about product features. Don't cheat and please sell products with genuine manner, this will be secure the your brand image.I am totally disappointed.
