The order and product were excellent. The seller was super understanding and was able to provide me the product way before its intended date. Excellent follow up and was very friendly along the way. This is my 2nd Nanit (I bought this as a gift for someone) and as a 2 year user, it's been a great camera for our child.

I bought this Nanit Pro Smart Baby Monitor but I did not get the Breathing Band that was supposed to be included

While it's a decent product for its insights, I found that the Nanit Pro has significant connectivity issues. Most often than not, when I fire up the app to connect to the cam, I experienced prolonged waiting times. One would expect to be instantly connected to the cam stream like other cams, but Nanit Pro for whatver reason had to involve playing the waiting game. WiFi and cellular connections used were solid as other non-Nanit cams worked perfectly fine on the same network. I think it's unnecessarily premium costing for what it offers. The insights I found to be nominally helpful other than the counter for how many times one visited the crib overnight to see for reduction in visits. But then again that counter was useful for the first 6 months only after which the baby's sleep routine was well established and the counter too wasn't really needed. There are other reasonably priced cameras out there that connect instantly without having to do repeated troubleshooting and come at a fraction of this cam's price. It's simply annoying having to wait to get a reliable stream for the price you pay.

Traveling with this camera and connecting it to different networks has been a pain… unreliable connection and some times won’t even connect at all

The camera and sound quality is great. However, I had difficulties pairing my iPhone to the camera because I didn’t realise it only works with IPhone X and below whereas I have IPhone 11 Pro. Fortunately I managed to pair the camera with my husband’s android phone and through the same nanit account I could access on my iPhone 11 Pro. I hope they will upgrade and allow iPhones above iPhone X to be used.

Nanit are based in the US and do not support the product in Australia. Their hardware is notoriously unstable and if it breaks they wont send a replacement to this region. Their support are difficult to work with and they will do anything to prevent giving you a refund. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My husband and I were terrified to bring our premature baby home without some way to monitor her breathing. She had some episodes in the NICU where she stopped breathing so we ordered several monitors just in case when they told us she was ready to come home. This was the one we kept. It’s so comforting to know that if she stops breathing, we are alerted right away even if we aren’t in the room. Putting on her breathing wear sleep sack is part of our baby girl’s sleep routine and she loves her “blankie”! The alerts for sound and motion are a little obnoxious (we live on a busy street so big trucks driving by set off the motion alerts and sirens set off the sound alarms so we even get them when we aren’t home) but it is awesome whenever she’s in her crib because we know if she’s waking up or whatever. If you are deciding between this and the owlet, we preferred this. It’s an investment in peace of mind and super helpful. It even has a nightlight and sound machine built in! My only complaint would be that I wish I could turn off the sound for when the baby is out of the crib “too long”. Sometimes it wakes her up just before I put her back so I have to remember to turn off the monitoring as soon as I get her out to nurse/rock/change/bottle her. It’s really cute getting to see the little updates/videos too! I didn’t think I was going to love it this much but I’m so glad we got it!

I ordered the camera and the floor stand and guess what? They only sent me the floor stand but no camera. It is an expensive item but they did not check it before it is shipped. Very disappointed with the service.

We love the Nanit system. Easy to use, great updates and functions, and camera works well. However I do think it is expensive and probably other cameras are better quality and less expensive.
