The whole dimensions of Weck Canning Jars 743 are the following: - Height: 5 3/4″ - Opening: 3 7/8″ - Volume: 28.7 fl. oz.

How tall and wide are these Weck 743 Mold Jars for sourdough starter?

Jar with lid is approximately 6" tall and again with lid, about 4.25" wide. I have been using this card for sourdough and like it very much for that application.

How do you get the lid off? I took the clips off and it's stuck on and I'm afraid I'll break the jar.

These jars are very solid so should not break easily. You can gently pry off the lid with a thin knife or soak it in hot water to release the rubber seal.

How much do these jars actually hold? I see 4 liters, .75 liters, 28.7 ounces, and 25.3 ounces. Which is it?

Jar model 732 holds 3/4 liter=25.36 oz.

Perfect for Sourdough Starter and Spice Storage!

I've been using my jars to hold my sourdough starter and as spice storage. I love that I can sterilise it easily and it's easy enough to clip it shut when I need a good seal. Perfect for what I was looking for!

Unfortunately one came smashed, but that was dealt with quickly and got a refund. Other in tact jar is great - sourdough starter is very happy in it :)

I LOVEEEE my Weck jars, perfect for sourdough started. The lid quality is really good haven’t had any issues with them and it seems to be leak proof. It is dishwasher safe and is very easy to clean. Fits a lot of stuff in it, it is fairly roomy for whatever you’re needing it for! I also like the overall look of them. I would say if you need a good jar to store anything but the Weck jars. I am planning to get more due to how much I love them! You can stack them but I keep my lid loose so I don’t think you should unless your lid is fit tightly. if you’re thinking about it, just buy them!!
