This is a good one. You can heat the water on your ...
In my never ending search for that "best cup of coffee", I decided to try a pour over method. Along with the scale, special coffee grinder , special beans ETC. , I needed to purchase the right pour over drip kettle with the proper spout! This is a good one. You can heat the water on your gas stove and it's a good weight. One problem is that the lid falls off when you tip the kettle over too far. OK, if you remember to hold it on. Also, my problem is that I should have ordered the next larger size. Don't want to have to purchase another one, but the smaller one is really a little too small.

Poor lid design
Pros:It has a cute design -- small and sleek, and it's all stainless steel. I refuse to use aluminum.Cons:One major design flaw: the lid is very difficult to remove. The little metal nub is hard to grab (if it was flat it would be better) and the metal tabs hold the lid in place too well. I actually had to use a butter knife to pry the lid off so I could fill the kettle. Seriously?! I don't want to start my pre-coffee mornings off with trying to pry the lid off a kettle. The lid also leaks if you tilt the kettle too far, just trying to get that last little bit of hot water. Spilling a little hot water on the counter just added to my frustration with the kettle. It's cute though, so I held on to it for a couple weeks trying to decide if I should send it back. My boyfriend bent the lid tabs in a little so the lid is easier to remove without falling off. It's still a poor design and it does leak if you tilt it too far, which isn't that necessary most of the time. I had very high hopes for this product and wish they had made a smarter lid handle so I could give it 4-5 stars.

I Really Like It, but It Needs Improvement
I do like my Pour Over Drip Kettle, which goes with my Osaka Pour-Over Drip Brewer, but there's one serious drawback -- the top of the kettle fits in so tightly that I can't take it off while the kettle's on the stove to see if the water's boiling. A U-shaped handle would help instead of a flattish knob that you can't get ahold of. Cooks know that covered water boils faster than that in a container without a top (I have to have my first cup of coffee as quickly as possible), so I invert the top and put it on upside down. This way I can lift the top by grabbing onto its big rim to take it off and peek inside. It is a pretty little thing, though.

Does the job
Straight forward. Pours well. No spillage. Handle gets hot, but that's to be expected. Does what it needs to. Reasonable size. I use it often. Good product.

Not suitable for boiling water
Kettle appears unsafe for boiling water. Handle gets very hot. Top is difficult to remove in order to determine whether contents are boiling. It is quite small and does not allow sufficient water to prepare a pot of coffee for my standard French press. It is decorative and would be suitable to pour ready-made coffee or tea into cups at table. I will probably use it as a vase for centerpieces.

Does the job but not great
It is sleek looking and the pour spout is nice for pour overs, but its inefficient in its functionality. The handle is small and heats up very quickly, so it can be hard to pick up with any type of oven mitt. Also, regardless of the water level, once the kettle boils water spills out everywhere. I wouldn't purchase this as a gift for anyone.

perfect for pour overs
Product as advertised, perfect for pour overs. Quality stainless steel, good size. I'd like to find a pour over pitcher with measurement markings to use for retail shop purposes. Have not been able to find one online at supply houses, Amazon, etc. This one works great. I just have to pre-measure the water and that creates a small bit of heat loss. Excellent product and very good vendor follow up. Thank you

Nice, but some flaws.
Overall, this is a great little kettle which, unfortunately, suffers from two major flaws: the handle will get uncomfortably hot if you use it to heat water on a stove (electric, gas, doesn't matter). You will need mittens. Also, as you can see from the picture, the kettle is not entirely rust proof. The area where the neck meets the body is corroding in mine. Don't know if this is an issue with others.I use it mainly to transfer hot water from a bigger electric kettle. Its main utility being the gooseneck for pour-over coffee making purposes. It will do fine in this regard but look elsewhere if it will be your main kettle.
