Does it leave any skid marks on the screen?

Yes, it does, but I don't really worry about it. It's an easy clean with a wipe. When the top of the cover gets dust on the cover top, it creates these square boxes skid marks on the screen of the outline from the cover. If you clean the cover ever outher week you should be fine.
