While you have the lower half apart to reach the hex head screw that runs through the body panel, I suggest a light coat of grease on the shaft that holds the arm to the lower assembly. I used a light coat of marine grade high heat grease to smooth out the rotation. The latches hold the hood down securely and were height adjustable to get the fit I wanted with minimal issue. I'm pleased to find that these have completely eliminated the hood flutter of the classic rubber arm hold downs. Be prepared to be at it for a few minutes, the bolt for the bottom half is hard to reach (this is not any fault of this product, just the way the Wrangler was designed) and even harder to get a wrench on it from inside.
