The books are by the Director and Curator of the museum. One book focuses on historical watches and clocks from about 1500 up to about 1850, all timepieces made by various watch- and clockmakers but not by Patek Philippe. The second book focuses solely on the history of Patek Philippe timepieces from the mid-1800s up to the present time. Both books are filled with beautiful photographs of the timepieces on every page along with descriptions of the timepieces, who made them and when, and for whom they may have been made. There also are brief more general discussions about the time periods in which the timepieces were made and various aspects of watchmaking during those time periods. A great book set for lovers of watches and horology.
