Love that these are water resistant. They did take some getting used to and I do think that the sound quality is a little different but overall I really like that I can workout in these and they aren't super sweaty and gross anymore! The earpads have a soft, almost velvety texture without the fabric/woven feel of the Apple-original earpads. The cutouts are for sound passthrough appear to all be the same, but after a few days of use, it was evident that there was something different in how the ambient sound (and active noise cancellation (ANC) to a lesser degree) were negatively impacted. For the ambient sound mode, the headphones would occasionally emit a high pitch squeal at low volume, and if anything pressed up against the headphones, then this squeal would get much louder — similar to microphone-speaker feedback. I purchased these because an Apple AirPods Max repair sent my AirPods back to me without the earpads, and it took a couple weeks (!), several emails, texts, and phone calls to resolve the issue with Apple. While I was waiting, I purchased these to hold me over, but the squealing got to be so annoying that I shelled out $69 for a new set of original Apple earpads. I’ll keep these around to use while I’m letting my Apple earpads dry from a cleaning… it’ll just be for a day, which should be fine.
