Love that these are water resistant. They did take some getting used to and I do think that the sound quality is a little different but overall I really like that I can workout in these and they aren't super sweaty and gross anymore! These are definitely a great alternative to the replacements on the official website because the price is so much more reasonable and again they are water resistant! I don't think they even look all that different front the original ear cups especially from a distance. The color is close to the original ones and I'm overall extremely happy with this purchase!

The earpads have a soft, almost velvety texture without the fabric/woven feel of the Apple-original earpads. The cutouts are for sound passthrough appear to all be the same, but after a few days of use, it was evident that there was something different in how the ambient sound (and active noise cancellation (ANC) to a lesser degree) were negatively impacted. For the ambient sound mode, the headphones would occasionally emit a high pitch squeal at low volume, and if anything pressed up against the headphones, then this squeal would get much louder — similar to microphone-speaker feedback. I purchased these because an Apple AirPods Max repair sent my AirPods back to me without the earpads, and it took a couple weeks (!), several emails, texts, and phone calls to resolve the issue with Apple. While I was waiting, I purchased these to hold me over, but the squealing got to be so annoying that I shelled out $69 for a new set of original Apple earpads. I’ll keep these around to use while I’m letting my Apple earpads dry from a cleaning… it’ll just be for a day, which should be fine.

I am very happy with this purchase! The item arrived quickly, well-packaged, and in perfect condition. It performs just as described, and the quality is fantastic. I thought that this was nothing more than a set of pads. I was amazed that the pads had such a proud negative effect on the sound quality. I use these headphones to check my mixes on songs I produce so I have good ear. I noticed that there are 4 vents rather than 2 like the original. This may have been added to reduce heat build up but it clearly changes the sound itself. I see several,others pick]ed up on this but not more. Celeearly the er pad assembly is an integral part of the sound. Maybe there is an interference with the noise cancellation or the additional holes created a resonant frequency or node that utterly destroys the fidelity of the originl design. If you don’t believe me take them off and listen without the ear pads and you will see the difference.

Bottom Line: Earrock replacement ear pads are a cost-effective alternative to the original ear pads, maintaining the same level of comfort. They are decent for gym use, but the lower sound quality and noise reduction make them less ideal for other environments.

For me, I sweat a lot in the gym and these ear cushions would not absorb the sweat like the original ones do. Overall amazing product!

It whistles occasionally, even when I’m not moving. It also sweats easily when working out.

While the cushions are of a good build quality, they are not compatible with the AirPods Max sound distribution. When the Noise cancellation is on, the sound from (whatever music you're listening) comes harsh and produces a lot of echo. Another way to explain it is that the sounds are clashing with each other and disturb the output - the result being a distorted noise that lacks bass and is closer to an early 2000 Nintendo game music. The waiting time for delivery is also a disadvantage, as it's from overseas. I know that we're all looking for a cheaper alternative for the overpriced cushions from Apple's website, but these ones do not do the job, sadly.

These are honestly so much more comfortable to wear than the original cushions from Apple! I'm not noticing a difference in noise cancelling performance either, this is such a worthwhile upgrade! :)
