The perfect cube shaped stones also form a solid surface area, allowing for a better and more even chilling. The size is just right, not to big, not to small, just right for a 2oz drink, any larger and it will not be covered by your liquor and not be as efficiently chilling. It will have only a very slight chill, but again this is all you want. Typically, a set of 3 cubes will lower the temperature of a 2oz drink by 5C.
