Salux Super Hard Nylon Japanese Beauty Skin Bath Wash Cloth/towel (White)

I have been using Salux for about 20 years. I have tried other brands and exfoliating gloves, etc. but Salux is best, even regular Salux is better than similar products, and I have found nothing like Extra Hard. This review is for regular Salux as well as Extra Hard. Everything applies to both. Extra Hard may hurt your skin if you are not used to rough exfoliation, but is not as rough as pumice if you use on feet, heels, rough elbows. Use regular Salux first and use this only when skin is used to Salux. Don't use on face. I use regular Salux on face. Use with lots of soap, scrub gently until your skin gets used to it. Great exfoliation. keeps pores open and rough skin sloughed off and helps moisturizing products work better, but I don't normally use any. When I shower, I use this much the same way as I would a dry brush for lymphatic drainage. Being long makes it very easy to scrub back and shoulders. Highly recommend the extra hard only for morning showers. May be too invigorating to use at bedtime. I never noticed any staining or discoloration until I started scrubbing garden dirt off my legs and feet. I washed it the washing machine in a lingerie bag (not dryer-I always hang dry-- might melt in dryer) and although I am certain it was "clean", It still looked dingy. A darker color might be nice. Dries fast. I have used the regular Salux for years. Never worn one out, but I have replaced them, just thinking might be a good idea after a couple of years. The "shower poufs" are inferior to Salux. They fall apart after time, and might not dry in the middle, inviting mold, bacteria, or mildew growth. A Salux can be bunched up and used like a pouf, and works a little soap into a lot of lather. It is good to turn shower off while lathering up, then rinse. Rinse Salux well and squeeze water out before hanging to dry. At the gym, I roll in my towel and sometimes dry with a hairdryer set on low heat. Do not share with others unless you machine wash, but I had rather not, even then. Regular Salux comes in a few colors, but I guess if needed, you could write initials on it with a permanent marker.

This is exactly what I was looking for--I wanted something that could do gentle exfoliation and then go turbo hardcore mode if I was feeling like rubbing sandpaper on me. This is great because you can apply gentle force or just really dig in and customize your exfoliating experience. I like the design in that you can go all weird with it and do some flossing-style cleaning with it or you can bunch it up like a handheld loofah, or even fold it and use it like a normal washcloth. This is perfect for my face, my head, my back, and really all the stuff in that Ow'E Jive song (you know which one). I have no idea what material it is made out of (I did not translate the packaging and didn't read the description too closely here) but it feels EXTREMELY durable. It is very easy to wring and hang to dry. I feel like this has a long lifetime before it needs to be replaced and it would probably be recommended to replace it before it actually breaks down--not that it collects bacteria or holds water etc but I feel that this would last long enough to be left to the future generations in a will like a tortoise. And nobody wants to inherit a tortoise. Or a washcloth for that matter. Anyhow it's great and I use it often and I feel extremely smooth afterwards.

great quality - perfect as a body (especially back) scrubby washcloth. Please note when dry it feels very very rough, but when wet and soapy it is softer and works great. Also Salux brand (type #100) is also a great scrubby but finer (less abrasive - I use it on my face). I highly recommend both. Just hang to dry, will not mildew. they can be washed in washing machine. I have tried other brands of nylon washcoths but found they they were too soft (no scrubby texture) but also dries quickly and no mildew.

This rag is very strong and scrubs very well. Its long length make getting your back very easy. The rough texture scrubs away tons of dirt.

Purchased this item a few times. Best body scrubber but be warned it really is tough on skin. Only difference with this purchase is the scrubby is white instead of the black color it normally is when I purchase. Great product, will purchase again.

I’m Hawaiian Samoan, originally from Hawaii—a true melting pot of cultures. One culture we lean toward heavily is Japanese. Yes, I know Japan bombed Hawaii during the war, but it was a military action, not directed at locals, and I have no ill feelings at all. I’ve been living in Michigan for 15 years, and growing up we used this type of scrubber as kids. I remember saying “ouch, ouch, ouch” because it was so rough, but over time we got used to it—it’s the kind of scrubber that truly exfoliates and makes you feel clean. After moving here, I searched everywhere—Asian stores, specialty shops—but I couldn’t find this brand. Thank goodness for Amazon! Even my ex-mother-in-law, who still keeps in touch after more than 10 years, says she purchases these scrubbers herself. She tried mine back in 2010 during a visit to Hawaii and declared it the best shower she’s ever had because of the exfoliation. These scrubbers are long-lasting. Just wash the soap and dead skin of by running under water and rubbing the cloth together well all over do the dead skin comes off as well, wring them out thoroughly and hang to dry, wash them in hot water with vinegar or a small load in the washer with similar materials, and hang to dry. As long as you care for them properly, they’ll last a lifetime. I feel dirty without this scrubber—truly a piece of home and childhood nostalgia. If you grew up using these or want a scrubber that actually exfoliates, this is the one to get.

I really should give these 5 stars for the quality. I've used the regular Salux cloths for many years so figured I'd try the super hard since I am used to the others. The feel is great but the cloth itself is larger than the regular and a bit difficult for me to use. Not enough to make me stop using it though and it may be just what a larger person or a man would find much to their liking.

I have gotten atleast 5 people on to these exfoliating clothes. I’ve been a believer in regular exfoliation since my teen years, and always get compliments on how pretty my skin is. I do an in depth scrub “everything shower” twice a week with this. Want the best shave of your life with no ingrown hairs that lasts 2 days? Want to be so soft you practically slide out of your bed sheets every morning? You need to use this. Want soft elbows and ankles? This product right here. Want the most even, and flawless self tan? THIS PRODUCT! It’s rough and tough. It’s not that same cheapo mesh on that old loofa you have hanging in the shower. Also pro tip: use a hair clip to hang dry this in your shower, no musty smells like a loofa.

I grew up using African sponge so I am no stranger to exfoliating wash "sponges" as an essential part of my bodywashing routine. This however is a different level. At first it felt like I was using sandpaper to wash my skin but quickly i adapted and almost from the first wash felt cleaner and my skin smoother. Both myself and a friend who suffer from KP have seen it almost gone within a week of using this. I have recommended to everyone. Love it!

It’s perfect. Just get it. (Thick girl with olive skin tone that likes to be clean) I’ve never had an experience with an exfoliation like this. It’s a little on he rough side (obviously) but it’s like a magic eraser for your skin.
