Love these things. Extremely loud and work well. I bought these years ago and recently re purchased for my girlfriend. I didn't even look for any other whistles I just went straight to these again. They are sleek and made well and loud as all get out

I'm discussing the NOOPEL 2-pack emergency whistles. They come with lanyards, letting me wear it around my neck and under my shirt. I got the brass-colored version. Bottom line, it's small and easy to carry (or wear around your neck) and quite loud -- does what it's intended to. I'll say again, the whistle is LOUD. Be careful when using it as it'll cause temporary deafness if you're not careful! Consider sticking fingers in your ears or using ear protection when trying it out. But a loud whistle is what you want, isn't it? You want to startle intruders or call for help or maybe scare wild animals away, and this whistle should do that. I have a Decibel meter and tried blowing the whistle, holding the meter about a foot (about 30cm) from the whistle. Note that I'm wearing sound protection and I'm doing this in a closed room. The meter registered 130.5db -- and since the decibel meter can't measure sounds over 130db, it means the whistle is even louder than that. I'm happy with the purchase and recommend it to others. UPDATE: June 2020. Still using and liking, still recommend. I've found it useful when walking -- if a dog comes towards me and barks, I blow the whistle and it scares them away. There used to be 2 dogs on my walk who would run towards me and bark. Took a couple of passes blowing the whistle at them, now they see me and shy away without barking.

Plenty of decibels, compact, lightweight, and the price is right. Perfect for my kids while they’re in the woods in case of emergency.

This small whistle is very loud! Pros: - Its compact size makes it great for using while hiking, biking, or any outdoor activity. I like the fact that it is made out of aluminum and even comes with a lanyard. - Shipping was fast and had a pleasant experience with the seller. Cons: - On the downside, while the whistle can be ear-splittingly loud, its just that; ear-splittingly loud. The sound reverberates directly into your eardrums because the bevel of the whistle is pointed directly at the user. Overall, I give this whistle (set of whistles, to be precise) 4/5 stars: 4 stars for the quality of the aluminum, small form factor, and very loud whistle sound (since the loud whistle can hurt your ears, I deducted one star). For $8 it is a little overpriced, but you do get two whistles in the package, which is nice.

I bought these whistles because I walk my neighborhood and there are a couple of small bully mean type dogs that like to bark at me and run at my heels as I walk. If I face them they back off but every time I turn my back to continue my walk they are right at my heels growling and barking. At first I tried one of those small bull horns but I realized they were much too loud. I wanted to scare the dogs not ruin their hearing. These whistles are plenty loud enough to scare the crap out of them without hurting their ears or mine. I got a chance to use one just the other day and sure enough when they followed me barking and growling, I turned around, blew that whistle And they took off! These whistles are handy because they're small, on a lanyard, lightweight, basically hands-free, and do not impede my walking in any way. It's nice that I don't have to hold them like I would a bullhorn. They arrived on time and in good condition. If I needed to, I would definitely buy this product again from this vendor In the future.

Loud and exactly what I was looking for

Clasp on lanyard is broken. Obviously no quality control. i was just looking for a loud whistle for security and don’t need both lanyards so i’m not going to bother returning but it’s annoying. the whistle is loud but not the clear sound i was hoping for. I purchased this because of the high reviews and price so i guess it’s ok for the price. it’s also a small whistle so you can put it in your pocket if you need to.

Whistle is loud, when it works. It's not all metal but has some internal parts that are plastic. Those parts can come loose, breaking the whistle. This happened to us after a few days. It also comes with a lanyard that snaps at the slightest tug. Do not rely on this product to work.
