great for covering a large area with an authentic gold color without spending a fortune

Really nice and buildable. Included a video and some photos of it in the light. You can see in the circle it’s heavier on one end and more sheer on the other so it will work for either a light sheen of gold or a more solid gold leaf effect. It’s a little expensive for such a small tube but as I’m not seeing any similarly high quality gold oil paint alternatives, I’d say it’s worth it.

As a professional artist, I love this paint for adding a golden shine to my artwork. You’ll need a several coats for the gold to be truly opaque or to have a base cost and the gold over top of it (as seen in my attached artwork). Otherwise one coat acts as a glistening sheen in the sunlight. It’s expensive, but just a touch of gold in any artwork makes all the difference. I highly recommend!

Only gave 4 stars being that I have not actually used this paint yet. rubbed some out on my finger and it seems very fine and the color is wonderfully gold. Truly looks like real gold. Will return after actually using it on my oil painting to let folks know how well it works. will be doing small detail with small brush. Interesting to see how smoothly it will apply. But, so far, so good. I felt it was a little spendy. But, if it works, the cost won't matter to me. As an artist the finished product is what it is all about. :)

I used to paint halos. Better than cadmium yellow medium, which I use all the time. This paint really gave my painting the look I imagined wanting the halos to be. I think it’s a better alternative to gold foil that can tarnish per some brands or specific line items.

Created a palette chart exercise upon getting this to be able to preview a reference of all my colors at a quick glance. This gold is absolutely beautiful. unfortunately, the curing time is ridiculous... I'm not sure why. All my other samples were touchable in a matter of a couple days. Not so with this. It stayed "wet" for well over a month, which was quite frustrating. I accidentally smudged it several times while making other color additions to my reference chart. Either add a quick-drying additive or search for something faster-curing.

This paint is gorgeous!!! Looks great as a final highlight on water to make it really sparkle! You need very little of this so don't waste!
