First off, I can agree with the One Star ratings in that this tool is not made to be very durable. But after spending three days trying to fish the valve stem through the hole in my motorcycle wheel rim, this little hummer got the job done in five minutes and to me is worth its weight in gold. For the price I'll order a few extras and keep them on hand in case one breaks. Meantime be careful about ordering similar tools being sold as the nuts on the end of those are too large in diameter to fit through the hole in some rims.

I have used the fishing tool 4 times now. It works and has saved my knuckles for inserting tubes. Some thought must be used when using the first time. Make sure to get the "core" tip through very far, and don't let it get pulled back into the rim until it's inside the tube. One issue I have with it is the "core" tip is solidly connected to the wire cable. This means the entire cable must be able to twist while tightening into the valve stem. It is sometimes a pain. I have several small kinks in the wire cable because of this but the tool has proved it's worth, snaking the stem through the rim is far easier using this tool than without it.

I have a KLR650. My first flat, I asked my friend if there was a tool like this, as I couldn't get the valve in the Rim hole without destroying my middle aged fingers. He told me every tire shop he worked in had this, and I ordered it. I would have paid 5x the price, as it makes fixing a flat /replacing a tube simple and hassle free, having to only open one side of the tire now. Don't hesitate. Build quality is solid also.

This tool is very tough and durable. I'm glad I bought it. The head off the tool easily slips through the valve stem hole on the rim unlike other similar tools I have used in the past. When screwed into the tube valve it holds firmly taking all sorts of punishment.

Used this tool for a rear motorcycle tire change. Tried it without it and it was very difficult to get the valve stem through the rim. So glad I purchased this which made the job very easy. It is very sturdy and very well made. Would definitely buy again if I ever need another one.

worked for me after I had previously beat my hands up trying to fish a valve stem up through a tractor tire rim Imwas putting a tube in...tire was stubborn to break the bead on the rim and I had tried fishing it out by holding top of stem with long nose pliers only to screw up the tube..so broke down bought this at a decent price and sure enough it worked and did not need to take ot to a shop and get the bead broken from the rom...handy item to have around if you work on vehicle tires

I’ve used it 4 times. It works as designed and really saves my hands. The handle pulled off on the second use. The bead that secures it into the handle was not soldered correctly. I clipped a pair of Vis Grips to it and it’s fine. If the valve stem end comes off I’ll be pissed.

This tool took some of the frustration out of changing a tire on my dirt bike. Trying to get my fingers under the tire and push the valve stem through the rim strip and hole was just getting on my nerves. After seeing this tool recommended on Thumper Talk, I knew I needed to try it and it worked great. I've only used it once (well more, if you count the pinched tubes...) so I cannot attest to the longevity, but it feels pretty sturdy.

The steel cable pulled out of the handle the first time I used it. Had to solder a throttle cable nipple onto it to repair it.
