Excellent replacement for old Payne motor
This motor works beautifully, and actually better than the original fan motor. It was not hard to install, although as many have said, the lead wires are shorter than they should be. But, otherwise, no complaints.

2 of the 3 wires were much too short.
I don't know why they did this, but the yellow and the brown wires were much shorter than the black wire. I ended up drilling a 1/2 inch hole towards the top of my AC condenser unit so that the wires would reach their components. The three wires on this new fan motor were of a smaller gage than the original motor wires and there were no mounting nuts included. I took 2 stars off this rating for that. If not for the short wires issue, this fan motor installation would have been easy and quick. The fan motor works fine now.

Back up and going before the heat hit!
This was a very good deal and it saved me a huge wad of cash over calling the HVAC company. To cover all bases, I was replacing a Carrier HC37GE210A, and much like others have reported, there are a couple of items I needed to address with the motor received, a US Motors CA3412: - The shaft on the CA3412 is about 3/16" shorter than the original HC37GE210A - I had to mount the blades as far out on the shaft as I could to get them to clear the motor's body - I had to tie wrap the motor's wiring tube up against the fan grill to keep it clear of the blades Also noteworthy is the wires out of the CA3412 are clearly a lighter gauge and much shorter than the originals on the HC37GE210AAs I saw it, the shorter wires could be addressed 1 of 2 ways:1) add extensions to the wires2) Drill and grommet a new hole to reroute the wiring (this was the solution I used)The motor works great and so does my AC.

EASY TO INSTALL AND YOUR AC IS COLDER BECAUSE COMPRESSOR IS COOLER!
My 15 year units needed new fans. I replaced two units and immediately there was a noticeable drop in temperature. The AC Unit could easily reach cooler temperatures faster. WHY? because this fan actually keeps the compressor cooler. It makes the refrigerant more efficient since the refrigerant can get cooler faster since the compressor will run so much better with a new fan. Its that simple. A 15 year old fan in the florida sun means those bearings, and electrical wiring that is constantly running is struggling to spin. Even if it works it can run better. One negative, is that the wiring doesn't have much slack, but it fits I didn't need to do cut or measure. It can easily be installed. The fan fit perfectly. Also make sure you get zip ties. You will need zip ties to make sure the wiring is taut. So buy some zip ties too. Also when you install make sure the power is completely off. that means the ac unit inside and outside.

cables were too short.
Please make sure you add more length to the connection cables. They were too short for me I had to move capacitor to alleviate for it.

Bolts lined up, Shaft length OK, leads short
It took about an hour to swap out. The bolts lined up no problem, the shaft was long enough for me. As others have said, the leads are too short. I cut the wires on the old motor and then cut the connectors off the end of the new motor wires and used wire nuts to join to old wires. The black wire was long enough. I ordered Friday afternoon and received Saturday, can't complain about the delivery timing. Motor runs smooth and quite.

Almost Identical Part
I bought this motor as a direct replacement for my original Payne condenser motor. It fit perfectly, including the correct wiring, EXCEPT the motor shaft was about 3/4 inch shorter than the original. So, in order to ensure the cooling blades would not contact the motor housing, I tweaked each blade at their base with Vise-Grips. No biggie, it only took a minute or two. It was worth the trouble to save $275 vs OEM pricing. Mine was made in Mexico, which I'm okay with. Had it been from China? I would have returned it, fast.
