Great overall instructions for all floral design styles. All of Paula's books are wonderful.

This is a small coffee table type book. There are some instructions and small pictures to diagram how to do the arrangements, but for most you will have to know or figure out how to do the displays yourself. If you have any experience or talent with flowers this should not be too difficult. The pictures are lovely and the ideas for arrangements are lush and beautiful. The contents are arranged by the 4 seasons and within each is information on what is good in the garden, what is good to buy and a garden plan. The garden plans are a bit disappointing - after such wonderful photos to illustrate the flowers, these plans have an almost washed-out water colour type illustration. It would have been nice to see a photograph, even if it had to be photo shopped to put together the idea for the plan - this illustration really leaves much to be desired. Ideas for some specific holidays and events are given, such as; Valentine's Day, Easter, a rehearsal dinner and a Thanksgiving - all in red which really does not summon visions of that holiday. There are some great ideas - like tying small bunches of lavender or wheat in vertical lines around a basket. Many of the other design ideas are different, lavish and stunning. This is a book that those who love flower arrangements will like.

I thought it would be more on flower arrangements and not as much on gardening. The photos were very nice.
