Note (to self): NOT "FREE RETURNS"
I have worn Fox River gloves for years and loved them. However, I realized after I got these that they weren't lined at all (my bad). These fit me perfectly (small) but they are scratchy and the cold seeps right in. I live in a very cold part of the northeast and they simply aren't warm enough (in addition to being itchy). It is my fault that I didn't notice they aren't free returns/exchanges so I didn't want to send them back for an exchange. I kept them and will use them in fall and late spring. I'm hoping after washing them (they advertise "washable") they'll be kinder to my skin (but there again, I'd be stuck with return charges). Fox River has been around for years (and I've purchased their gloves through the years) so they should incorporate free returns & exchanges.I'll be more careful when placing orders.

Just what I wanted in a glove
These are like the gloves I used to have many years ago. I have not seen them in any store in a long time. Was looking for a glove I could use for winter driving and still maintain a good grip on the wheel. These fit snuggly, which is what I prefer. I have smallish hands and the medium was the right size. Some people have commented on these being itchy. I do not think of them as itchy, but they are not cashmere-lined-feeling either. The wind will go through these if you are in sub zero weather. They are not intended to be the ultimate cold weather survival glove. Just a great glove for most MN winter driving days.

Best damn pair of wool gloves out there.
I have had these gloves for 10 years, and they still look like new. I have had them through 30 day treks in the Yukon, -50 midwest winters, New York, D.C., North Carolina Mountians, Custer, Yellowstone, Tetons and all over the PNW. These are the warmest, most durable and comfortable pair of wool gloves I have ever owned. Why I never submitted a review is beyond me, but it struck me when I was chucking snowballs on Mount Rainier that they are still going strong 10 years later, and keeping my hands warm. I 100% would buy these again, but then again I might be reaching retirement by the time I need to. Buy them, that's all I can say.

Inside not lined - feels itchy on your skin
Be aware that Fox River sells an UNLINED glove and a lined glove. I had bought a pair of lined gloves from another company, but they were too small, so I just ordered another pair of Fox River Ragg and Leather gloves from Amazon, not realizing there were two types available. This particular glove being offered here is not lined, and although they are good quality, they're quite itchy on your wrists. I wish I had realized there were two types because I wouldn't have bought the unlined version, and the lined ones here are too expensive in my humble opinion. The best quality and bang for your buck are the ragg wool gloves offered by LL Bean (again, in my opinion), but alas, the brown ragg wool gloves were already sold out well before Thanksgiving. Maybe next year!

The perfect ragg wool glove
I was looking for a pair of Ragg Wool gloves. I tried a pair from Woolrich. They were lined with some sort of fleece which made them way to warm and way to snug on my hands. These gloves have been perfect for me this winter. I have large hands and the largest size fits perfectly without being too snug on my fingers. The leather makes them grippy enough for my steering wheel. The stitching seems of quality that I'm not going to have to worry about the leather tearing from the glove. The gloves extend up my arm enough that when I stretch, my arm is not exposed to the elements. I have worn them when it was a cold as 9* F and my hands were plenty warm. It has not been colder than that yet this winter. These have been the perfect glove for me.

Craftsmanship like no other and performance that's out of this world!
Just uses these gloves as primary hand protection on their first bushcraft outing, and all I can say is wow! they kept my hands warm in negative weather.. held up to the abuse of cutting and handling wood, as well as fire tending! I put these gloves through the ringer and they took everything I had and begged for more! friends $60 Carhart gloves failed instantly in the same enviroment when they were described to do the same thing lol but these, try these, and you'll love these! I'll never buy another set of gloves and when these finally take all that they can take (I'm guessing 10 years from now due to the durability and stretching ability and length into the wrist protection) at that point I'll just but a new set! Loyal customer for life right here! love them and love the maker! try them and you will join the club!

Keeps you warm
Like these, but they are a bit itchy around my wrists. They are warm but the stitching that holds the leather onto the glove is coming apart after 1 use of shoveling snow. It's very soft leather.

Leather is nice and soft, should wear nicely. Wool is pretty scratchy, dry hands steer clear.
