Why does this take so long to ship? If I ordered today the earliest, I possibly would get them is 6 to 10 days from now?

Does this regrow if already put in pond last year? Or have to put new in every year?

As a reminder these are aquarium indoor  plants and usually grown with poor lighting and barely any water disturbance without a hood covering for best growth.  It reproduces quick after 5 months.  This is how I transitioned them outside as I noticed I have too many growing iny aquarium.  I put some in a deep 1ft planter pot and grow it indoors under a regular lamp/ light bulb.  I started bringing my light bulb closer and closer until it is 1ft away from the plant (from 3ft to 1ft)  ( scorched, but doubled in size compared to the ones I kept under my aquarium lights) then I knew it was ready for the out doors and introduced it slowly to the ourside- meaning put it in shady area then extras in the sun. Good luck. It was trial an error on my end so I test it after it multilpy heavily in my aquarium.  It is still growing and multiplying. If you are impatient and dont intend to grow them infoor and transition them out door, dont bother. The plants will die in less than 1 hour after being exposed to the sun being shipped in the dark.

Do the water lettuce plants ever come on contact with fish or are in tanks or a pond area with fish?

Yes,  Your lettuce will float on top of the pond's water.   My fish will eat the roots off first and then start nippling the leaves.
