" This cheer was heard on countless battlefields across continental Europe - from the blazing sun of Portugal to the frozen snow of Russia, as Napoleon Bonaparte's tireless troops took their version of liberty to a shocked Continent. The Revolutionary Wars had turned, by now, into a titanic clash between Corsican 'Little Corporal' Napoleonand the Monarchs of old, established Europe. Napoleon fielded men in the hundreds of thousands and the infantry regiments of Frans - 'Les Bleus'- fought bravely and well in their ceaseless campaigns. Formed in battalions and marching proudly under their eagle standards, these men in their trademark blue coats bested most who dared oppose them, sometimes with firepower, but most often by simply marching boldly straight at the enemy lines and sweeping them away with the sheer audacity of their approach. The rat-a-tat of their drums and the cheers of their old soldiers must have been an awe-inspiring sound in the first few years of the 19th century. These glorious Napoleonic War French Line Infantry are perfect for use in games set during the most glorious period of Napoleon's reign. Facing off against Russians, Austrians and Prussians as well as taking on the British, Spanish and Portugese on the Iberian Peninsular. - From the Napoleonic Wars to the American Revolution to the Civil War to the Plain Wars and many other conflicts in between, Black Powder covers a significant period in history spanning almost 300 years, which encompasses an era of warfare defined by muskets and cannons fueled by nothing more than gunpowder.
- Reenact pivotal battles in history within this tabletop combat game using dice, troops, and rules constructed by Warlord Games against one or more opponents.
- Each brigade is led by a single commander. You can move your entire brigade altogether or give individual units their own orders. On each turn, verbal commands are agreed upon by both players and moved based on those verbal commands and the roll of the dice.
- Built to be played on large tabletops, such as a pool table and multiplayer with as many people as you want, Black Powder was originally created to be a club game. A standard move is 12 ins for infantry, 18 in for Cavalry. Each player will need to have a measuring tape handy as they are not included.
- Build, paint and play! The construction and painting of the models and watching them come to life are just as much fun as the game itself!
