Previously when we would agitate them to get them to glow some seemed to stick to the side of the plastic flask and then dry there. This allows for an amazing glow with minimal effort and splashing. The glass flask has a smooth consistent form which allows the magnetic piece to spin well because the plastic flask didn't work with the stirrer. The vented cap we had for the plastic flask doesn't screw on, but rests easily on top.
