I received my cookie press and used it the next day to make spritz cookies. It worked great, but I have used an electric cookie press before, so I knew what to expect. It took a little bit of trial to get the tube on and locked, but once I figured that out, it was a breeze. I would recommend this item to anyone who bakes cookies a lot. It takes practice when you first start using one, but once you get the hang of it, you will love it.

This is the worst made cookie press I have ever used. I thought getting an electric cookie press would be easier on my hands, so I purchased this. Even after I watched u-tube videos it was still difficult to use and took about twice the normal time to try to make cookies. The piece that pushes the cookie dough down only worked for 3 cookies then disengaged. I tried it 4 times then gave up. I'll be going back to my hand cookie press in the future. I am disappointed in this Cuisinart product.

I bought Cuisinart's cookie press as kind of an experiment just to see if it would work. My mom has an old electric cookie press that she's had for years, and we've spent the last couple of Christmases worrying that it would break right in the middle of shooting out the cookies (though it still seems to work). Since I'd never before used a press like this myself and had read several negative reviews of Cuisinart's version, I had pretty low expectations. But I had no trouble at all! My mom had given me a few tips (use the recipe they give you in the instruction manual since it's formulated to work in the press and use the dough immediately--no freezing or refrigerating before using), and it was probably my easiest holiday baking project. I've been watching my mom do this for years so I had a pretty good sense of the rhythm with which you press the gun to the cookie sheet, and I wondered whether some of the reviewers who had trouble with the machine just weren't able to get that down? Some of the stencils they give you were better than others, but all in all it was incredibly easy to use, the cookies were delicious, and now we don't have to worry about the old one breaking down.
