Review: Terrific 5 star bag! Value with customizable fit and ample space - What this bag is not. It’s not a overnight or through hike bag. It’s a day pack. I purchased it as I rarely ever camp out anymore and don’t need a full size bag for day hikes. Backpacks are larger, heavier, hotter and don’t offer the organization I am seeking. With that out of the way, I purchased the BP Vision Pack to replace my Gregory 40l bag for day hikes. The look reminds me of a 1990’s version of NorthFace Waist bag I owned in many ways. The bag has 8 pockets: two small on the sides of the waist. 1, open on both ends, tucked into the lumbar (more of a sleeve). 1 main zippered compartment with an internal stretch divider and separate zippered section. 2 smaller zippered pockets and the 2 water bottle holders. The shoulder straps are lightweight. They are not going to withstand heavy abuse. I have considered possibly upgrading them- time will tell- but I also want the lighter weight and cooler option (temperature not look) afforded by this configuration. Finally I added a sternum strap which I bought through desertcart. I think this should be included by default and made the bag more comfortable. What love about the bag: 1. Variety of carry options: waist bag, shoulder sling or waist bag with shoulder harness 2. Size: As others have commented, the bag holds way more it appears it should 3. Fit: I am 6’5” tall and 220 lbs, 34” waist. The bag fits me well and could easily accommodate larger waist sizes 4. Organization: The large pocket contains the aforementioned internal divider and zippered pocket, the lumbar slip is great when paired with a zip lock or other bag to keep this from getting wet from sweat. The smaller waist pockets are sized for single use sized items, and the two smaller pockets, outside of the main pocket, are surprisingly larger than then appear 5. Easily accessible water bottle holders 6. Lightweight with ample storage 7. Cooler option and better suited for day hikes or shorter versus frame backpack What could be better: 1. Water bottle holders could be deeper, they can hold a Camelbak Chute. Also their positioning allows for easy access to your water bottles while wearing the bag. However due to the size of the bottles I’m using and the design of the pockets- it’s harder, but not impossible, to reinsert water bottles while wearing. I’m not deducting a star from this as I am using larger bottles and smaller ones would not be an issue 2. The cinch strap not all that useful. Modified as has been suggested by others may be better. I don’t particularly need this space but I do find it useful and use it to hold the shoulder straps when I hang up my bag. 3. I find wearing the bag, fully loaded without shoulder straps to be a bit uncomfortable. The bag tips away from my back when only worn with the waist straps. This may be due to the position of the waist straps on the bag, or possibly all the gear I have, a combination of or for some other reason. For me- this is informational only and doesn’t change my rating as I purchased this bag to use with the shoulder straps 4. The center buckle of the shoulder straps, slightly, ever so slightly, brushes my back 5. Inclusion of a sternum strap I strongly recommend this bag for most casual hikers and those not needing an overnight bag, maybe one night cowboy camping or with a hammock. It can also double as a good day pack with on vacation at the beach or even sight seeing. I’m considering another one to keep as my dad bag for the everyday carry required with a toddler.
Review: This is the Mountain Biking review you're trying to find - Second edit - at 40 months the belt clasp is starting to give way if I tighten it down enough to keep it from wiggling around and I replaced it with the $60 one from Fox. Still would recommend, especially if you're hip-pack-curious and want something relatively inexpensive to try. Still 5 stars, I felt like I got my money's worth. Edit - I've had this for 11 months now and use it all the time for Mountain Biking and I still like it very much and would recommend it. It's easier to get water bottles back in the holsters now, not sure if that's because they stretched or I got better at it. Upped my score from 4 stars to 5 stars, I love the lightweight shoulder straps. This is the review you're looking for if you're a mountain biker. I've only ridden with it once and I'll try to update after I've had it a while, but so far I'm a fan. Climbing with the shoulder straps on it disappears, I didn't think about it on my way up the hill at all other than "it's kind of fiddly to get these water bottles back in their holsters". I may try and make a shoehorn-like thing out of a 2 liter soda bottle or something to help guide them into place, but it held the water bottles much more securely than I expected when I first got the thing. You can see in the photo it holds almost all of a normal sized water bottle. Tall ones would stick out more and might become unbalanced but I haven't tried. The thing's got plenty of room for stuff in it, and a bunch of pockets. I've got my multitool, garage door opener (ride from my house sometimes), tube, pump, shock pump, chain link, tire levers, and there's definitely room for multiple clif bars and a normal sized rain jacket in there. Plenty of straps on the outside that I might just cut off in case you want to strap more stuff to it, but for me it's got plenty of room inside for everything I'd want on a medium ride. I had a cheap fanny pack before this one just to test the concept and it really pulled on my stomach if you put any water bottles in it. This one with the tiny shoulder strap takes the pressure off my waist and is more comfortable, and I'm able to load it down with twice as many bottles as I could with the old one and still be comfortable. I haven't tried it without the shoulder straps yet, so I can't speak to whether the straps come loose while riding or how comfortable it is that way. Descending a couple times it tried to turn around and get in front of me, but only on really rough, really steep stuff. Probably I just need to tighten the belt, I had it pretty loose since the shoulder straps were doing a lot of the work. I might try and sew some silicone grip tape fabric on the belt or something to keep it more planted. For $20, I'm beyond stoked. The thing looks the business, holds 2 bottles comfortably, and I have more than enough room for the stuff I'd want with me on any ride short enough that I don't need the full 3 liter backpack. I might get a 2L or 1.5L bladder and chuck it in there and see if I can't rig up a hose-belt situation like Camelbak or Evoc has. But for what I need it to do, this thing's great and I'd recommend it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lower quality, but decent value.
*by R***6 on November 30, 2020*

I decided to purchase this as my "light" MTB rig for short rides. I am a backpack kind of guy, but since "everything enduro" is all the rage right now, I went against my core beliefs and bought this fanny pack [which I have NEVER owned in my entire life]. LOL The good: :: very good value, particularly if you just want to dip into the fanny pack [I mean, "hip pack"] realm :: fits a 2L water bladder in the main compartment :: has room for all trail essentials [multi tool, tubleess patch kit, mini pump, snack] :: optional backpack strap included :: nice selection of colors The not-so-good: :: low-quality construction. Before I even took it on my first ride, one of the nylon straps blew a seam as I was cinching things up. Not a huge deal, as it looked more decorative than functional. But IMHO, this is a testament to the cheap Chicom construction/low quality control. I don't think it will hold up very long… but for $20, I can't really complain. :: not meant as a true "hydration" pack. While the Platypus 2L bladder fits, there is no apportion for the drinking tube. I just let it out the main zipper so I can have the tube protrude and clipped to the backpack strap. Again, not a deal breaker. $20 is what you get. :: some straps seem needless. While there is a bunch of nylon webbing stitched all over the place, a few seem unnecessary and functionless. They are there pretty much for "style." Overall verdict: Not terrible, so far, though I doubt it will hold up to the intended use. If I end up committing to a hip pack in the future, I'll replace it with something much higher quality [Henty, evoc, Source Outdoor, etc.]. But this is not bad for lighter duty usage or as a secondary hydration pack.
