When installing cable on larger projects, I generally need to provide more than a simple pass/fail on the cable pairs. This tester reports SKEW and BERT so the client knows the cable is actually ready for their network. I've never had any issue saving multiple test results to PDF format, and my tester has been completely reliable and very accurate. My only complaint is that the tester does not automatically detect the type of cable being tested. You have to program that in before you test. As a full featured network tester, however, I give it a full 5 stars.To be perfectly honest, If you just need an excellent everyday cabling qualifier, fault tracer and network tester, I would highly recommend the less expensive Net Prowler, which has been my go-to cabling, PoE and general network discovery tester for many years. It also saves test results and gives very fast results.

First it’s not a certification tool, maybe I’m used to the Fluke qualifier. Impossible to save items correctly, had to send 35 single PDF tests, all because this device could not save all to one PDF.

I purchased one of these in 2017 and it started having intermittent failures in early 2020 where it would not stay on, it would not complete a simple cable test on a good known cable, and DHCP wouldn't work. IT continued failing until it gives errors on every cable test and DHCP always fails.Talked to Platinum Tools in 2020 and they told me that they had no parts to repair this unit and they don't service it anymore. So, now I have a $1700 device that boots up and the only thing I can do with it look at the nice pictures on the screen. Have tried resetting, reloading firmware, and rebooting many times.It worked great when it worked.Be warned if you buy this unit, if you have problems, Platinum can't service it. I've searched theinternet for any other company to service it and haven't found anyone yet.
