Can you use it with only part of the sides on, such as one open side, or is it all or none?

I use ours with three sides--front, back and one side. Works very well

How tall are the sides of the cart? How deep is the cart?

Those sizes are in the description at the bottom of the ad

Which tool removes the tires ?(to place cart more flatly for store?)

Probably just a pair of pliers to straighten the cotter pin in order to pull it out. I would have extra cotter pins on hand in case any break though since they are metal and being bent back and forth will weaken them.
