great inspirational read
After becoming a huge fan of Jays after watching him on prime time television hit tv reality show 'sas who cares wins' I quickly took up the opportunity to follow him on Instagram and to this day there hasn't been a post which I haven't liked. I even started a Facebook fan page after I found other 'jay mortoners' (name of us ultra fans).Fast forward a couple of months and after jay posting on 4th June 2020 about the release of his book I immediately posted in the Facebook group and called my wife to see if I could take some money out the joint account and pre order a book.Luckily the old ball and chain said this was fine so I logged onto my amazon account and made such action.Fast forward to present day and the book arrived yesterday from our local amazon delivery guy Eric, and I must say what a service he always delivers, even my wife is always happy when he comes over and delivers his package to her.Anyway enough of Eric lets get onto Jay Mortons new book 'soldier'.I've already finished it and WHAT A READ! from start too finish, every page I turned I got more drawn in.Truely inspiring and I can't wait for the second book which I think should be titled 'corporal' MEGA LOL.thank you amazing and Jay.This is great

I've never left a review before, but had to for this one.
Such a quality and inspirational read, I just couldn't put it down. Clear and well written, with key life lessons distilled into an easy to grasp format, backed up with real life examples and scenarios. It took me a few days to finish the book and even though I was only part way through, I'd already started to make changes within myself. It's completely changed my perspective after realising I was living in a very small and ever decreasing comfort zone. The Resilience section ('Validation' in particular) was very insightful and eye-opening for me. After a set back a few years ago, and some other difficult life challenges over the time, I slowly just became scared of everything. On the outside I was confident, but on the inside I was insecure, scared to try, scared to speak up, and scared of making a mistake. But after reading this book and taking it all in, things have really started to change thanks to the wisdom within this book.I'm really looking forward to pushing myself over the next year (lockdown or not) with some pretty big goals planned, and I'm feeling positive and excited for the future which I haven't felt for a long time. I hope others read this book and get the same new perspectives and inspiration that I've taken from it.

Deeply Practical
I bought this book for motivational purposes for my 18 yr old son who wants to join the military. I found other books in this category way too heavy for him to grasp. I’m not a massive fan of male hero type books but....Jay has produced a practical motivational book that applies to everyone. It may appear at first to be simple facts that many people already know. But what Jay has done has dismantled a seemingly complex structure and made it completely accessible to the ordinary person and that is by no means an easy task. His insights into human nature are second to none and this sings throughout the book and he has smartly entwined his knowledge, growth and experiences in an easy formula any aspiring young person can follow. But mainly he has written a book of how to be a genuine happy inspired human - how to adapt to the situation at hand. Soft or hard. It’s a real book written from real experiences. Many which people will relate to and nod in agreement!!I’m happy for my son to follow these life principles wholeheartedly! Does it inspire me to climb Everest .. no thanks.... but it definitely does inspire!I think this may be a book you may return to time again when you need inspiration or answers and have forgotten the way.

Book of the year for me!
Cannot recommend this book enough! Jay has written it in such an accessible way that anyone can read and enjoy it. Jay is such a motivational person - have highlighted so many inspirational gems from the book that I know I'll go back to.This book is not just for anyone interested in joining the army/knowing what army life is like but for anyone that wants motivation and inspiration for their day to day life, whether that be working on fitness, being a more positive person, dealing with life's hardships and so much more. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone and and am sure you won't be disappointed!
