I bought the ComfortTech Stratton 3M Thinsulate Blanket to use as a throw blanket on my bed for winter use. It is thinner and lightweight compared to a traditional comforter, but crazy hot. It does not allow any air to circulate through this sandwich of the microscopic woven, hairlike fibered layers, so our bodies are a big "hot water bottle" inside that creates a desirable (sometimes) moist heat. The fuzzy side is super soft and cozy, but if you do get sweaty you will feel itchy from the fleece-like hairs sticking to you. This is certainly not the blankets fault. It does what it is supposed to do. Seriously, do not underestimate this Thinsulate design. My reason for taking off a Star is that it is like a cut velvet look on the light color side and this has a very shiny sheen to it. It does not look like that in the photo.
