I had an outdoor 80 qt cooler that finally gave up the ghost that was 20 years old, but the last 5 of those years the lid was in pretty bad shape and unusable because of the unrelenting summer heat here in AZ. The insulating foam and the inner plastic portion of the lid eventually dried up and separated from the actual lid. But, other than that, the cooler was in pretty good shape. I was pondering making a DIY cooler instead of buying one, and decided that I would save that DIY project for another day, years from now. Cost-wise, it would have been a little cheaper, maybe, but, I'm sure I'll get a good decade's worth of use out of my new one. Ok, on to the review. Sturdy, steel construction with excellent fasteners. It took about 15 minutes to put together. I used a 10mm socket for the leg fasteners and the allen wrench was (?) 5/32. The install kit comes with a wrench, but I perfer to use a ball end one to make it much easier. Other than the color and the handles, it looks pretty much the same as my old one. The baby blue color actually matches my wife's VW color, so obviously she likes it. It looks very summery and cool on the patio. We are looking forward to using it for our get togethers and BBQ's.

This cooler is pretty easy to assemble. Once assembled, the cooler is both beautiful and functionally awesome. Paint seems to be pretty durable. Keeps stuff cold for a very long time as long as the lid is used and kept closed. Built-in bottle opener is very convenient. Drain is a neat feature that eliminates having to flip cooler over to drain ice and water after each use. Love it!!!

This item was priced reasonably, and I'd say I got what I paid for. I like the color! The package arrived missing several of the bolts required for assembly, and the body of the cooler has a very small dent on one corner; but not significant enough to deal with the hassle of a return. I called the Permasteel customer service hotline to request the missing bolts, and I could not be happier with the experience! An actual human answered the phone right away, and she was able to order a set of replacement bolts that will be sent to my home - the call took less than 5 minutes of my time & the customer service rep was excellent. I've noticed other reviewers commenting that the legs are not very sturdy, and after assembling the item I understand their concern - there are more expensive and sturdier choices available. I'll just be super careful when I move this when it's loaded up with ice and bevies! I might replace the casters (only because this will be placed on a deck and these casters might get stuck in the gaps), but I'll wait to see how they function first. I really like the design of the lid; it has a knob on each side and it's hinged in the middle. The whole thing comes off, which will make loading it up and cleaning it easy. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, and I can't wait for an opportunity to use it!

I ordered the Permasteel cooler in mint. It was very easy to assemble especially if you use a socket wrench to tighten all the nuts quickly. My only complaints are that the knobs on top feel plasticky. Wish they were steel. Second complaint is that as soon as children go into the cooler the lid is on the floor. In our case it fell onto the flagstone patio and chipped just a tiny bit…. It’s a design flaw, not a kid flaw, though. There is no way to latch it other than maybe a bungee cord or something. If anybody out there knows of a specific latch for this product I’d love to know about it. It’s adorable though and so nice to not have guests on the ground fishing out drinks from a cooler.

The photos speak for themselves. I paid for a new item. This was used, put away wet, and resold. Two of the four corners where the legs attach were rusted and one was dented. There was a sheen of rust down the seam on the under side of the tub body. I didn't know I was paying full price for a used, damaged item. I didn't have time to return it, so I had to use it for the function. I won't return a used item, so I guess I'm stuck with it. It did hold the ice and beverages fine, and it didn't leak much. But I wouldn't have paid this much had I known it was used, dented, and leaks so much. It was simple to put together, but not easy. A drill with an Allen key adapter would have sped things up, but as it was, it felt like assembling a metal IKEA item. It was sturdy enough once assembled.

We had to return the first one because it came defective but this has been a great addition to our office. We’ve used it for so many events. The bottle opener is so convenient.

Love this cooler! Filled with ice and soft drinks on a Friday afternoon and ice was still good next afternoon. Holds quite a bit and the look is so cute and vintage.

Would not have purchased a damaged product. Not worth it whatsoever. Save the trouble!

Contacted Amazon only to be transferred multiple time to a "specialist" who did absolutely nothing to resolve my concern. I'm sure it's a great cooler. Cant say much.

Absolutely perfect for hosting big parties. Super easy to put together and mint green colour is gorgeous. Almost too nice to keep outside. A little pricey but worth it. I can think of many uses for this cooler. Cheers.
