Canon EOS Rebel T6/1300D For Dummies (For Dummies (Lifestyle))

I've had my Canon for years but I recently decided I wanted to be better at using it so I picked this up to learn some things. Like all 'for dummies' books, this delivers helpful tips and information on improvement in a way that's easy to understand and digest. I'd recommend it for amateurs or people who want a new display books that tells people "Yeah, I take pictures," but in a cool, understated way- not like you're trying too hard.

Great instructional manuel at a great price!

The Canon EOS Rebel T6/1300D for dummies book is a must-have supplement to the Canon EOS Rebel T6/1300D camera. The book has many illustrations and explains the camera operation and capabilities well.The for dummies book gives great explanations for beginners as well as people who have used totally-manual, auto-aperture (built-in light meter) and auto-focus cameras in the past. For beginners, camera basics are explained as well as operation of the Rebel T6. For experienced users, the book builds on the basics and gives explanations about the camera's functions that are easier to grasp and use than the writing in the Canon paper and electronic manuals. The for dummies books tells how to download important software and manuals that one might miss if they just peruse the paper manual (included with the camera).Without the for dummies book, one would need to read the Canon manuals (a bit tedious, with no humor) and may or may not ever reap the advanced benefits of the Rebel T6.I am on my second reading of the for dummies book as it has been decades since I used a "complicated" camera. The review of the basics was helpful as my previous experience with more sophisticated cameras involved the 35mm physical film type.

This book is organized in a very clear and concise way. It is so much better than using the manual that came with the camera. Covers all the possible features that you can use.I do have one complaint . . . . On page 3, there is reference to an online cheat sheet that can be used in conjunction with the book (like when you can't take a bulky book with you). I went to the website and entered the information as it is listed in the book . . . . . the cheat sheet doesn't exist. Pretty disappointing.

The instructions with the camera are ok but this is much more detailed and useful. Found number of tips in this early on that were not in the Canon instructions that came with camera. And so much easier to use than trying to work through the PDF from Canon. One flaw I found here is that they had a cheat sheet you could print out on line but despite several tries never could get their website to work to download this. Not sure if it is missing or what the problem was. Not a big issue but annoying. Whether long time digitial photographer or a novice this is helpful to get to know the new T6 camera I bought

This book is great to explain use of all of the features, but it only explains the features. I was hoping it explained how you would use the features to take great pictures, which it does not. Still happy with the book, I learned a lot. Now to find a book on photography that will explain what feature to use when.

This book was worth every penny!! For someone like me who has absolutely no knowledge of photography this is a must have. I need to take decent photos of the display cabinets I build so it was obvious I needed a decent camera. The point and shoot cameras I've used in the past just didn't cut it. So I decided to step up to the Canon Rebel T6. That said, I knew I would need simple, understandable, guidance in it's use. Just as the Computers for for Dummies taught me computers years ago, I'm finding this book extremely helpful and I am taking some really good pictures right away.

A lot of good information but I found watching YouTube videos on how to use this camera was much more helpful it does have good information regarding all the settings it's just a matter of reading and retaining the information

Easy to read super little book

No se nada acerca de la fotografia, pero me obsequiaron una camara reflex (canon t6), este libro en realidad es para "tontos" (como, yo :) ) en verdad ha sido de gran ayuda para entender para que es cada boton, entender acerca de la apertura/velocidad de fotografias, como puedes sacarle mas provecho a tu camara y demas.Excelente librito, llego super rapido y el costo lo considero bueno.

Without this book I would be completely lost. I've never used a DSLR camera, know nothing about photography or even how to control depth of field, and now I'm so much more informed. The book is also written interestingly enough that it's not like dredging through an owners manual. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic Book for a Novice like me. It gives all the details about the Camera and how you can maximise the use. After grasping all the chapters, one can start taking very good pictures.
