I find it very reliable. I use it for road biking. I used to have a 24 speed 29” bike that gave me more speed and was more challenging. When I ordered this one, I was aware of the diminishing. However, this bike is challenging enough for me. When it arrived, it required some assembling but nothing major. From the beginning and over three weeks the disk rotors (front and back) were rubbing some against the break pad. I assumed that of let alone the accumulation of rubbing would fix the problem itself. This is important because the rubbing creates friction and it holds you back when going up hill. Easy fix. Read the instructions on how to adjust disk brakes and do it. You will figure out easily. I recommend this bike, especially to the bike enthusiast. Enjoy it. Review: Nice bike - It went together easily in less than an hour. Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my wife. ## Features - 21 speed - mountain bike - Aluminum Frame ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B08239VFJT | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Age range (description) | Adult | | Bicycle Drivetrain Type | chain drive | | Bike Type | Mountain Bike | | Bike type | Mountain Bike | | Brand | Schwinn | | Brand Name | Schwinn | | Customer Reviews | 4.1 out of 5 stars 354 Reviews | | Derailleur Configuration | Rear | | Frame Material Type | Aluminum | | Frame material | Aluminum | | Gear Type | cassette | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00038675213845 | | Intended Riding Terrain | Mountain Terrain | | Is Assembly Required | Yes | | Is Autographed | No | | Item Weight | 16.9 Kilograms | | Minimum User Height | 5 Feet | | Model Number | S8222AZ | | Model Year | 2020 | | Number Of Speeds | 21 | | Number of speeds | 21 | | Power Source | Pedal power | | Size | 29 inches | | Special Features | 21 speed, Aluminum Frame, mountain bike | | Specific Uses For Product | Trail | | Style Name | Modern | | Suspension Type | Front | | UPC | 038675213845 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | | Wheel Size | 29 Inches | | Wheel size | 29 Inches | ## Product Details - **Bike type:** Mountain Bike - **Age range (description):** Adult - **Brand:** Schwinn - **Number of speeds:** 21 - **Wheel size:** 29 Inches - **Frame material:** Aluminum - **Suspension type:** Front - **Special feature:** 21 speed, Aluminum Frame, mountain bike - **Item weight:** 16.9 Kilograms - **Style:** Modern ## Images ![Schwinn High Timber Youth/Adult Mountain Bike, Aluminum and Steel Frame Options, 7-21 Speeds Options, 24-29-Inch Wheels, Multiple Colors - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71oPYVZs4kL.jpg) ![Schwinn High Timber Youth/Adult Mountain Bike, Aluminum and Steel Frame Options, 7-21 Speeds Options, 24-29-Inch Wheels, Multiple Colors - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81txfCyZ4QL.jpg) ![Schwinn High Timber Youth/Adult Mountain Bike, Aluminum and Steel Frame Options, 7-21 Speeds Options, 24-29-Inch Wheels, Multiple Colors - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/612yma7UcyL.jpg) ![Schwinn High Timber Youth/Adult Mountain Bike, Aluminum and Steel Frame Options, 7-21 Speeds Options, 24-29-Inch Wheels, Multiple Colors - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71He9yMxiUL.jpg) ![Schwinn High Timber Youth/Adult Mountain Bike, Aluminum and Steel Frame Options, 7-21 Speeds Options, 24-29-Inch Wheels, Multiple Colors - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Xva39-szL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: what size wheel?** A: will a 24B such High Timber AL Red fit a boy 5'8" tap **Q: On the model with the 24-in wheel what is the height of the seat in its lowest position?** A: My bike has 27-1/2" wheels. Thanks** A: This Schwinn comes with a limited lifetime warranty that covers replacement parts under manufacturing defect. For full details, it'll be on the last page in the manual. Takes a bit of adjusting cables to get brakes and shifting to perfect . I've owned quite a few bikes in the past that were absolutely uncomfortable to ride and they always ended up as garage wall decor . I'm not seeing that with this one. It's pretty light I've only ridden it a few miles but I like it . As for the pedals falling off in the other reviews , the pedal arms are aluminum along with the pedal studs look to be also . I would not overtighten them. I can see it would be very easy to overtighten them and strip the threads right off . All in all I think it's pretty good quality besides the aluminum pedal thing . ## Frequently Bought Together - Schwinn High Timber Mountain Bike for Adult Youth Men Women Boys Girls, 24 to 29-Inch Wheels, 7 or 21-Speeds, Front Suspension, Aluminum and Steel Frame Options - Schwinn Thrasher Bike Helmet for Adult Men Women Age 14+ with Suggested Fit 58-62cm, Multi-Mode Rear LED Light or No Light Option, Lightweight with Adjustable Side and Chin Strap, Bike Accessories - Ascher Ultra Bright USB Rechargeable Bike Light Set, Powerful Bicycle Front Headlight and Back Taillight, 4 Light Modes, Easy to Install for Men Women Kids Road Mountain Cycling Black --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.sn/products/318673426-schwinn-high-timber-youth-adult-mountain-bike-aluminum-and-steel](https://www.desertcart.sn/products/318673426-schwinn-high-timber-youth-adult-mountain-bike-aluminum-and-steel) --- *Product available on Desertcart Senegal* *Store origin: SN* *Last updated: 2026-10-14*
