Pentair 272409 Diverter Seal Replacement Hi-Flow Pool and Spa 2-Inch Valve

Good news, it works great. I just put silicon sealer on the bottom and lots of gasket lube on the top and reassembled it right away. Waited 4 hours for the sealer to set and started up the filter. No more blow-by that was keeping my filter from working. In the photo you can see the channel in the old gasket where my filter was being bypassed. Bad news, the person who installed the previous gasket used atomic epoxy weld-it-on you-better-pray-this-never-has-to-come-apart glue! I kid you not, I was pulling, scraping, cutting, and scrubbing for 4 hours to get it clean enough for the new one! It's a crap shoot whether this will happen to you, unless you are sure that it is the first time it has been replaced or replaced the last time yourself. I'm sure it was done by someone who did not know what they were doing and wanted to make sure they didn't have to come back out. If you do have this problem, I used regular pliers, very small tip needle-nose pliers. a small screwdriver with a blade the width of the channel, exacto knife, razor blade, stiff nylon scrub brush, fine scotchbrite pads with a block, and lots and lots of patience and elbow grease! Silicone adhesive will last, and if it doesn't it will be easy to replace again. Just keep a spare spider on hand. I hope you don't have the problems I did!

Product is a perfect fit. A bit of an exercise to get the old gasket out as it was superglued around the entire thing. After putting this on, our jets are pushing w more force and the suction through the skimmers is visibly improved.

Good replacement, just make sure to glue it in place... yes glue it. I hate that part of the valve design! But his was a good quality gasket to replace the leaking one.

I would be careful of any product that does not look exactly like this one. It fits perfectly and pricing is good.

We needed a new spider casket quickly. Our diverter was leaking and the prices we got around town were up to 4 times in price for the exact same product. Hardest part of installation of Spider gaskets is getting the old one out. Once out, this product was easily installed and working as expected.

Fit perfectly. Used Loctite "60 Second Universal Glue" to glue it in. Placed a baking sheet on top of the gasket with four bricks to make it seat well. Waited 24 hours to mount valve assemble. No issues. Tip #1: Replace the O-ring in the valve assembly while you have it off. part number 272406. Tip #2: By two of these spider gaskets so you have one on-hand for immediate replacement the next time it fails. Ours failed on July 1st right before our party on the 4th. Scott W.
