Hi there, as freeze-drying is the best (currently) available method to preserve perishable foods, the shelf-life is given by the quality of packaging alone. If packaging would be 100% perfect, shelf life is several decades (freeze drying is often used for emergency food preparation). But nothing can be 100% perfect, so we use quadraplex 4 layer craft doypack and we give 18 months since packing. Can this product be used as a baking ingredient?

Hello there, for any raw desserts, cream, decoration freeze-dried fruit is fantastic - beacuse it does not contain any water and its super intensive in taste and colour. However, if you put it to oven/bake with it, it will simply burn too easily and all the beauty will be gone. The best use for Freeze-dried is for products which are not baked. However, on finished baked goods (decoration, sprinkle etc) its perfect.

This is the third or fourth pack I have bought - the slices are sensational. Great for decorating cakes and buns, either as slices or they can be crumbled. They can also be eaten straight from the pack where the taste is zingy first then a deep, deep intense strawberry.There's so many uses that I've yet to try including crumbling and using the crumbs around the rim of a strawberry daiquiri - roll on summer!I've had the raspberries, as well and they are equally excellent.Long lasting when in a sealed bag.
