The Pressure Pointer was developed after using a Theracane hand powered design to treat a sore shoulder. Hand powered designs for self applied therapy demonstrate the effectiveness of a cane shaped device to help relieve pain, but with hand powered designs the user is forced to exert the muscles that are being treated, defeating the purpose. Foot power allows the user to apply soft to hard pressure for extended periods of time while completely relaxing the target muscles. Being able to relax the target muscles and apply firm pressure for extended periods of time is one advantage of foot power over hand power to self-treat back pain. The more significant advantage of using foot power to apply pressure is when the user performs stretching and range of motion exercises while applying pressure, which cannot be done with a hand powered design. Pressure while stretching is a common technique used by therapists from massage to chiropractic, only a foot operated device allows a person to perform this type of therapy on themselves. The Pressure Pointer is made from aircraft grade aluminum, so it is light and flexible, but very strong and durable. We offer immediate shipping with only two day delivery and the best customer service available if you have any questions. Only the Pressure Pointer comes with four interchangeable heads that allow for a broad, rolling therapy for acute pain down to the “Finger” that is only ½” round so it can penetrate to the deepest muscle(for those that can handle it). There is also one medium rolling head and one medium fixed head for most users. The rolling heads are made from natural stained birch wood, the rubber heads are made from 60A durometer rubber (Latex Free) to mimic firm human touch. The included manual shows step-by-step instructions to get you started on the path to self treatment of your back pain. We offer a 30 day, hassle free return policy and a one year warranty. Great massage tool for tight muscles and trigger points.
I have used the Pressure Pointer Foot Powered Self Massager since 2008 and have found it to be extremely effective at working out trigger points and sore spots that need massage. It is very durable and I have applied pretty heavy pressure on the metal tubing and it's never failed. This is the best trigger point and muscle adhesion massage tool I have ever used. I like it because it's versatile at targeting most any muscle area including the shoulder. I can always tell when I find a sore spot needing massage and the diagram provided helps locate the areas most prone to trigger points. It's simply a matter of positioning the massage ball on the tender area needing massage and extending the pole far enough so you can leverage it with your foot and apply gentle pressure. It's great because you can apply a lot or a little pressure with perfect control and it relieves any upper body tension since all the leverage and pressure is controlled with the foot. I wrapped a thick cloth around the pressure ball to give it a little padding at the point of pressure since the ball is made of wood and has a crease in it. The cloth covers the ball crease and allows more comfortable control without slipping. I have recommended the Pressure Pointer to friends and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to release muscle tension or regain pain free range of motion. It's very compact and can store under the bed or in a closet. I love it.

Great improvement over Theracane
I have been using a Theracane and several knockoffs (Back Buddy, etc.) for several years to work on trigger points in my shoulders and upper back. I love them because they are extremely effective, and even help prevent headaches I sometimes get when my shoulder muscles are very tight. But the Pressure Pointer has replaced them all for me. It is so much more pleasant to use because my arms do not get sore. I don't agree with the criticisms of other reviewers. I am very tall (6-6), and it adjusts very comfortably for me. The original Theracane, by contrast, is so small that it requires putting my arms in an awkward position to use it properly. Also, the construction is very light weight, which I actually appreciate because that makes it more comfortable to use, even if it might make it a bit more fragile. I'm not sure how the other folks broke things on this -- I'm not using this for pole vaulting, but for putting pressure on rather sensitive tissue. It is also quite a bit more versatile, because I can reach more areas. Perhaps because it is not as fatiguing, I am more inclined to explore for more trigger points that might be causing referred pain. I highly recommend this product. The only real drawback compared to the hand-held versions is that it is larger and therefore slightly harder to store. Since I use mine every day, it just ends up stretched across the couch, which is a bit ugly. But so worth it!

The hard-to-reach cluster of painful knots around my shoulder blades due to holding babies ...
The hard-to-reach cluster of painful knots around my shoulder blades due to holding babies as a postpartum doula and from boxing have been impossible to reach/relieve outside of professional massages. I tried out the Pressure Pointer and it really works well to get in there. The ball part can be a bit unforgiving and, like another reviewer mentioned, it would be ideal if the balls attachments could be of a slightly giving material, but then they might not be able to roll as they do. After trying this out, I gave to my dad for his frozen shoulder and he's been liking it. I plan to order one for myself now.

Saves you $$$ in massages
I have had many professional massages at $50+ an hour and only a very select few can target the muscles that I can reach with this. They also have a very good reference on their website of therapy massages to help shoulder neck problematic areas. http://www.pressurepointer.com/PressurePointerManual.pdf

Essential for Trigger Point Therapy
I've tried every trigger point product on the market - Theracane, Backknobber, Bongers, spiny balls - all are helpful, but the Pressure Pointer is by far the best. The foot control allows for more consistent, constant, deeper pressure, and relieves arm and shoulder exertion while treating the area - which really matters if your trigger points are located in the shoulder girdle or SCM. Make sure you have the Clair Davies manual " The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook: Your Self-Treatment Guide for Pain Relief " to guide your actions. A note to all who suffer from severe trigger points: for some really stubborn TP's, all the deep pressure in the world won't do the job. Sometime, you need to get the suckers exploded. Mine were treated with TP injections of a saline & lidocaine solution by my MD. It took several sessions, but they were finally subdued, and of the 4 TP's treated, only one has reactivated in 9 years.

A God send!
Where do I begin... I suffer from chronic pain due to a metabolic disorder that does not allow my muscles to relax on their own.So I am constantly super tight especially in my shoulders, upper back and neck. Before coming across this contraption I would roll for hours on end on the floor on a tennis ball/ base ball. The pressure pointer is like having your own pressure/ trigger point therapist! You can work on precisely where you pain is, there are different sized attachments for broader pressure too.And it is genius that the pressure power comes from your legs not arms!Which then allows your upper body to completely relax, instead of having to exert pressure with your armsthe way other pressure pointers work. After using it just once I got major results!I would recommend this wholeheartedly!
