Much easier then old fashioned clippers. *by 5***. on April 4, 2021* Much easier to use over the buzz-cut razors I have been using for the last 40 years.... I got tired of having the comb/guide fall off and ending up with gouges in my hair. This unit cures that problem. I am 68 years old and still have thick hair and no receding hairline. (Thank you mom!) Maybe my success here is that I keep my hair to less than 1/2" long. I cut using a setting that cuts to 3/8" long. I can see how having to cut longer hair that it will bog down the works. Just cut more often. I have seen no irregular length cuts and cannot imagine how others have been able to get it to fail. I just keep running it around in circles until it no longer sounds like it is cutting any more hair. It does require dumping out the clippings so I keep a shallow box nearby. Hair comes out easily but may need to be brushed out occasionally. Someone complained that it does not shave very well. I don't think it is designed to be a shaver. Get over it! Battery holds a charge no problem after two years. It is a challenge to change the setting so if you want varying lengths during the same cut it is a bit difficult changing the guide. Once in place, it is reliable. I was using a conventional buzz cutter. Combs fell off and I had to hold a thumb to keep it on. I had to hold it perpendicular to my head and had difficulty reaching all areas of my scalp. I had to use mirrors to see where cutting was needed. With the circular cutter, I just keep making circles until I am done. As it traps hair inside, it can cause hair to be cut extremely snort so I use a cape to catch loose ends. Easy to clean. I use a spray lube to keep it working smoothly.
