Order a 9 for sure or 39 in Burkie or any thing that looks similar. Hope this helps. I am an 8 in one foot and 8.5 in the other 9 is perfect

Q: Does the footbed soften over time?

I doesn't soften but it does mold to your foot. I find they are very comfortable to wear. I have been wearing them almost every day since I bought them. Good luck.

I got a 7 and that’s what I usually wear and it fit perfectly so I would size up.

Q: Do they shape to your feet?

As with anything you wear enough of, yes they will mold to your feet
