I use this gel SPARINGLY and only after I've applied my other stylers, brushed and micro-plopped. I measure a scant half teaspoon out, that's all. I rub some between my hands, glaze it over my hair, gently scrunch it in and diffuse. It gives me great hold that helps my waves stay for a second day. Yes, it does dry hard and crunchy for me too, but that's when I know I'll get the best jold. I just scrunch it out. It took me a long time to figure out how to best use this gel for my hair without it looking like a slimy, greasy mess. Ive never had any flashes, probably because i use a miniscule amount.
