How does this scale calculate resting metabolism and how accurate is it?

Accuracy depends on the user. Te device itself measures impedance to electric current through all of your tissue from torso/arms to feet, which is a larger/more valid sampling of tissue than a two-point foot-foot scale.  Fat and bone contain less water and conductive electrolytes than lower impedance tissue such as muscle/organs/ligaments. Metal devices are also conductive, as they're usually steel. The more tissue is sampled via impedance rate, the more valid the device is.

However, user scientific literacy is the best way to judge device accuracy. As with the device, larger sample size leads to a more accurate AVERAGE. Single readings are only data points, and don't mean anything.  That is why the top review by the self-claimed very fit person is invalid due to insufficient sampling, and lack of control of variables. Daily fluctuations will and do occur. They can be due to bowel content (up to 4-5 pounds), salt and especially creatine intake, coffee intake, premenstrual symptoms, corticosteroids, estrogen and progesterone levels, and carbohydrates intake.  Carbohydrates hold 4x their molecular weight in water.  The top international review is also grossly misleading. Fasting will actually produce less muscle and a correspondingly higher fat reading due to the nutrient partitioning principles of the body  The body will catabolize muscle first and primarily, while the  increased cortisol response to fasting will induce fat deposition.

A large sample of daily weigh-ins (say 30 for practical purposes) will give you the best calculation of your average body composition. It is only as accurate as your statistics savvy, (and control of variables (carbs and salt intake, timing of exercise, etc.) Plot daily weigh-ins on an x-y graph. Calculate your average. Then calculate all the deviations from that average, and you have your margin of error for your particular body.  It's actually fussier than that, but that's the simple arithmetic version.

No. This model has no connection USB, Bluetooth or wifi in order to create a report physically.

Has everyone gotten a younger body age? I'm just curious about that reading; I'm no where near "fit/athletic" & it says my body is 10 yrs younger.

Yes, when i was unfit it gave me the age of 58 when i was only 40 lol
After that it woke me up to start taking care of my health, i starting eating clean and lost 120pds in a years time so a year later i went back to this scale and was blown away my fat% was 61% and now 19% and my age was 22 instead of 58 so it does work, I'm thinking of buying one of these scales myself instead of bugging my busy friend to use hers 😊 Good Luck

No computer connection. What I would do is create excel spreadsheet and log info from daily or weekly however you choose.
