It would reduce the effectiveness of your heated steering wheel. Also I am unsure it will fit since the one I bought was for a golf gti.

Does it fit a 2015 Kia optima?

This will fit if your steering wheel has a flat bottom "D" type steering wheel. If it doesn't then they also make them for round wheels, but this one is for the flat bottom wheel.
