It takes about 2 or 3 hours to go from mid 60's to 104+ and only costs about $5 in propane. You will also need a BBQ propane tank. **Q: How do you drain water from the tub? Is there an adaptor for a garden hose? Thanks** A: A garden hose adapter is provided that will allow most of the water to be drained. Once most of the spa water is drained, open the bottom drain valve on the pool floor to remove any remaining water. **Q: how long does the unit take to heat from beginning to 104 degrees?** A: When I filled my spa, it took around 28-30 hours to get it to 104. Thats with the surrounding area at 45-50F degrees. The water started out at 54F degrees also, so roughly around 1-2 degrees per hour **Q: I want to put this indoors, what should I put under it, and do I need a special outlet?** A: I have mine in our basement. It has been operating for just over a year now. Here are a number of comments and suggestions. (1) I had feared that humidity would be a big problem. It was not. 99% of the time the cover is on and that stops any humidity. The basement is art of the house a/c so what little there is is lost. We do open a window in the summer and close off that room. (We had it outside originally--it is MUCH better inside.) (2) I purchased the Bestway 8' pool to put under it. Takes care of all moisture below, and since it has inflatable sides, if the spa should leak, it will 'rise' up to accommodate. The pump sits inside the pool as well--perfect. (3) in the winter, the lost heat from the tub is simply part of the house heating--as opposed to outside, (4) very clean and easy to care for inside--only issue is that you need an inexpensive immersive pump to drain it. At first I used a hose out a window, now I have a hose to a floor drain in the utility room. (5) I plumber in a hot and cold water line from the utility room lines by the water heater--easy refills. (6) I empty and refill about every 3 months--probably overkill. (7) I use bromine, as there seems to be less smell, (8) ALEXA next to spa for music with voice commands. (8) I compared it to a hardshell spa, as we intended this to just be s test, but the soft sides and deep water are better....and I could replace yearly for far less that a built-in.
