I’ve had one of the OG Lumi lamps for years. While I liked it, being limited to 30 min wake up simulation was annoying as I found myself waking up long before my alarm time. It also got very hot. This does everything I wanted and better! It’s a really compact but bright light. The choice of 10, 20, 30 sunlight simulation is the main reason I bought it! Choice of two alarms for weekday and weekend is great too. The speakers are good however the lowest volume is still quite loud for radio. You can choose to wake up to chime, beep, birds, radio or no noise. I prefer no noise. The sleep sunset sleep setting you can set for 15, 30, 60mins and it ends with a red light which is very relaxing. I haven’t tried the sleep noises. You can also dim or turn off the display at night. I’ve gotten rid of my beside lamp as this is touch and you’ve many lighting options. It doesn’t get hot either. My only con would be that it can be confusing to get your head around some settings at the start. But once you set it up once it’s easy and intuitive. The instructions are good I think the price is fair as it’s decent quality and doesn’t feel flimsy. I can’t comment on battery life as I leave it plugged in.

Light is bright. Problem is the flickering. It develops after 3-4 weeks. It is really annoying. It stops after about 10 minutes like it heats up.

This TL30 has been a great help for more than 2 years! I've recently upgraded to TL45 and gifted this one to my parents - but it's still a brilliant device that works and considerably cheaper (while doing the same thing). I usually switched it on while having my morning coffee but I also kept it on my work table, on the side, and switched it on and off several times during the work day. While it’s not some kind of miracle cure, I’ve genuinely noticed that I feel more awake and a bit more motivated on grey mornings. It really helps set a better tone for the day, especially when everything outside feels dull and flat. Note that researches show that you usually need several weeks of correct exposure to such lamps to feel the beneficial effects. The good / PROs: 1. Nice, compact, slim and portable + a convenient stand and cover. Easy to cary with you around house and taking with you on travels. My newer tl45 is much bulkier and less convenient in this regard. 2. I like that this is a medical grade, approved device - so you are not exposing your eyes to harmful light. Saying that please note that it is not recommended to look directly at the lamp for extended periods of time and very close. It's very bright and can feel harsh if looking close & long. 3. It’s very lightweight and 0 setup haha, just connect the charger, put the stand and you are good to go. The light itself is bright, clean, and very “daylight-like”. 5.It’s LED, so it’s energy efficient, doesn’t give off much heat. TO NOTE / What could be better: 1. No built-in timer (for whoever it matters, but there is none) 2. There is no other colour for the light like in tl 45 for example. I like the warmer ones but in fairness they are weaker too in terms of output lux. And in fairness it's probably expected as this model is at least twice cheaper than tl45 while still providing the therapeutic 10k lux light. Overall in my opinion this lamp offers amazing value for your money and is kinda natural source of enhancing your day! If you struggle with low energy or winter mood dips, especially in darker climates, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try! Hope it helps like it did for me! Stay well & cheers!
