Good after spine surgery
Our dog had to have a spine surgery and they said no more stairs. This ramp works great outdoors, leave it outside and it holds up fine. Nice traction and sides on the ramp to give the dog confidence. It’s one length and has rubber bumpers under the top to hold in place well. Very simple, no complains.

Great ramp for getting dogs onto the back seat of an SUV!
This ramp is just what our corgis needed to get into the back seat of our Toyota Highlander! We thought we would need the strap adapter (sold separately) to hook it onto the side door for extra stability, but it is very stable without that and we're returning that part. The rubber feet at the bottom of the ramp keep it firmly on the pavement, and the curve at the other end grips onto the seat. Add a treat at either end of the ramp and there is no hesitation to use it. Perfect! Also -- a bonus for the humans -- this ramp unfolds and folds so easily and is pretty light weight, much lighter than the wood folding ramp we tried first. Our dogs weigh about 30 pounds each and they've both been on the ramp at the same time (TREATS!) with no stability issues. We all highly recommend this ramp!

Does the Job well.
Got it today, and training of the dog to use it took a whooping 5 minutes. Must already have a dog that trusts you and is already trained. Otherwise good luck. Whatever you do, DO NOT FORCE THE DOG TO USE IT, the dog must learn how to use it at its own pace, once this is done it becomes second nature to them. And don't tease the dog by not taking it around the block at least to let them enjoy getting in the car...think of it as a reward instead of stuffing their faces with unhealthy treats. The product isn't as light weight as people may lead you to believe, but compared to other ramps this is light. This ramp weights in at approx 15 lbs. The bulk of the unit coupled with no side handle makes it awkward to carry. A good handy man can fix that in 5 minutes. It has rubber nubs, I wouldn't call them feet, but they do offer some slip protection on the vehicle. Probably a good idea to kneel next to it so if there is an issue you are right there to prevent any mishaps. This provides added confidence for the dog so they don't seem to be up in the air without any side protection. Overall a good solid product. Glad I got it. UPDATE: Just got back from a month long trip to San Diego, and this unit performed great. Fast and easy to set up. Storage is a bit tricky, so make sure you have room or a secure location for it. One important safety notification is to make sure any part of you is clear of the closing section of the ramp, because it is unforgiving if any part of you is in it when it closes. Big ouchy if that happens. Dog did a great job using it, however, the dog did seem to have issues with its paws on the sandpaper surface on steeper inclines. Not sure if the dog was uncomfortable or in discomfort going down the ramp, but the dog jumped off the unit. Didn't have a problem going up at the same incline, so pay attention to this if you have an older dog. If you happen to get sand or dirt in the small chambers of the unit, a few simple clam shell claps together will clear any debris quickly and easily. Didn't try this myself, but even though it may say it supports upto 250lbs., you need to remember this is 250 lbs of a dog on 4 legs which distributes its weight over a larger area than a human on 2 legs. I can see where a child may want to use it, but I have a feeling that the centralized weight of a human child might cause this unit to collapse or buckle, so I recommend not allowing children to get on this unit.

UPDATE: NOT-As-Awesome-As-I-Thought Doggo Ramp!
UPDATED REVIEW (April 2025): Today I noticed that the adhesive tread on the ramp is coming up and is crumpled. Not sure how I didn’t notice it before but it totally explains why our remaining senior dog started to refusing to use it. Something in his way or that feels funny under his paws really throws him off more than ever. I was so bummed and disappointed to see that the tread was coming off. I LOVED the ramp (obviously by my previous 5-star review below) and thought it was such great quality. The ramp was not cheap and it was just about a year old. Initially I came in to update my review and then realized I hadn’t tried to contact the company. As much as I didn’t want to take the time to find them and contact them, I felt it was the right thing to do. As a business owner myself I would want to know if a customer had a quality issue with my product and give me a chance to fix any issue. Before I pursued the company’s Customer Service I looked a the Product Description again and realized maybe people don’t keep the product outside for deck steps like we do and maybe keep it folded in a vehicle a is not exposed to weather. However in the Product Description I also didn’t find a “This is designed to be stored inside and not intended for outdoor use” sort of warning. So the outdoors issue just never entered my mind. There are photos of outside use and it even talks about the ramp allowing you to enjoy the outdoors more with your pet. So I kind of feel like it wasn’t unreasonable to think the ramp would be okay outside. Anyhoo…I took the time to contact PetSafe. It took me a minute to get through the phone tree and when I finally got to the proper product category they had a message citing “unusually high call volume” and the wait may be extended so please go check out their Support page to see if the answer is there” that drives me nuts. I think it’s really just a way for companies to send you down the inane rabbit hole of trying to find an answer on your own so they don’t have to pay Customer Service people and they can be more profitable. Sure enough…30 seconds later an actual HUMAN answered the line! So good job there, PetSafe. And she was lovely. Very kind and personable. These days when a company has human Customer Service it’s often a good sign that they stand behind their products and want happy customers. I had a wonderful conversation with the rep about our doggos and that I had left a glowing review for the product and was so disappointed that it was coming apart. I shared with her that the ramp was used outside on our deck steps. I mentioned that I didn’t need the whole ramp replaced because that old be wasteful and asked if there was any way they could send out a new tread (it’s like a sticker). We were on the phone for a good 10-15 minutes and I assumed she was getting a replacement set up as we chatted. It sounded like she was searching for the right type for my product as she asked which ramp, my dog’s names, etc. She finally found replacement tread but said it was not going to be the right size and I’d have to cut it (no problem). And…it was going to be $30. After paying $75 for the ramp I was not going to pay another $30 on a year-old product. I was nice about it as she’d been so nice and she’s just the messenger but REALLY disappointed. Not only that they weren’t going to send the tread out but also that I had just spent valuable time, giving the company he benefit of the doubt by taking time to reach out before just jumping to edit/downgrade my review. And the rep had been soooo chatty…I wish that she would have said right away yes, but we have to charge for them. I got off the call and did a search on amazon for weatherproof stair tread and found ton of options well under $30. I purchased a roll of weatherproof tread tape for $8.99 with free (Prime) shipping shipping. I wanted to give others the heads up in case you’re planning on using the ramp outside. To PetSafe…it would be better to make it super clear that this ramp is NOT for outdoor use or at the very least have some replacement adhesive tread that you can send out or have REASONABLY PRICED replacement tread that you recommend if use will be outdoor. ORIGINAL REVIEW (June 2024): This ramp is just awesome. I have three little doggos, two of them seniors. My little black and white rescue was really suffering with her knees and hips. This has been a total game changer! We followed the directions on the box and when we first got it, we unfolded it and put it flat on our kitchen floor. We used training treats to coax them to walk on the ramp. They picked it up right away - they will do anything for a treat! At first when we tried to get them to go across it without treats they weren’t really having it. They kept following me from one end to the other AROUND the ramp because they knew I had treats in my hand. It was actually pretty funny but I was a little concerned that they weren’t going to “get it” without a treat. We stuck with it, using smaller and smaller bits of treats since we practiced so much. They got it figured out in about half an hour. So then we brought the ramp out to our patio steps for the big test! The textured surface on the ramp prevents slips and makes it easier for the dogs to get up and down. The ramp was super easy to unfold and put on our patio stairs. It’s lightweight but sturdy. Our senior doggos are only 8/10 lbs but the ramp definitely seems sturdy enough for bigger dogs. We did about 5 ups and downs with treats - they did great! The next day I was wondering if they would remember to use it and sure enough, my little black and white doggo with the bad knee and hip went right to the ramp to go down to the yard to do her business, and came right back up the ramp…no treats needed! The freedom this ramp gives to the doggos and the time it has saved me are both huge. I was having to carry my little black and white girl out to the yard, wait for her to do her business and bring her back inside each time. It was time consuming and really cold on early winter mornings! I highly recommend the ramp. It’s well-built, versatile in that it’s easily folded to bring in a car, holds up in super cold and snowy winters and a great value.

A godsend
Works like a charm. My 12.5 year old cattle-pitt mix was having trouble jumping up and down to and from the back of my car, and she's about 50 lbs and I have a bad back, so we needed a solution. This is it! Had several training sessions with her using treat and clicker, first the ramp flat in the house and praised her just to get her paws on it for a few days, and then a small incline from the deck to the house for a few days, which she really took to, and then with the car. Worked great. It will save my back and my girl's arthritic legs. She's going up and down it into the back of our Subaru Forester now, and this ramp is super easy for me, a woman, to set up and take down even with mostly one hand while my dog is on the leash. Ten stars, a godsend!

Recommend
My senior dog is having mobility issues but still wants to go for her occasional car ride. Bought this to help her exit the backseat. I have a compact sedan so it was difficult finding something that would fit the door frame. I bought this and the recommended door strap. The ramp itself is sturdy and just enough incline for my dog to safely exit the backseat. It folds in half so it fits easily inside the trunk. Easy to clean with the spray of a hose. Only complaint is the sandpaper stuff they coat the ramp with. I got splinters in my fingers while unpacking it so I covered the ramp with outdoor carpet cause I don't want that sticking in my dog's feet.

Light weight and folds easy
Ramp was perfect, light weight, easy to handle. Took him 2 days to learn to go up. The grip helps his paws.

Easier to get in and out SUV
Serves the purpose but added carpet strips for more traction for my old dog.

Great non slip surface
The best. Worth spending the extra for the better surface. Have a blind 12 yr old golden retriever and learnt to use it in 2 goes.

Light Weight & Very Convenient to use
Our old German Shepherd just started having issues getting into our 1 ton truck. This ramp has worked perfectly and she seemed to know what it was for as soon as it was set up. No treats needed in getting her to use this, and we really appreciate the surface grip material on the ramp itself as there's never any worry about her slipping. Very easy to fold in half but I often leave it extended and just put it in the back of the pickup as is. Highly recommended!
