Fantastic TTL Setup for Sony: Just be sure to flash the latest firmware for your system..
I'm using this trigger on a A7R III with RF-60X speed lights and it's a fantastic replacement to my Nikon CLS system. It took me a second to get TTL working on it, but support was very responsive and released a new firmware that made it compatible with the A7R3 just a day later.

I co\\uld not get this flash unit to trigger my Sony HVL-F43M. I downloaded the upgrade files for the Cactus V6 IIs, followed all the directions in the quick start guide. Downloaded the User Manual from the Cactus web site still could not get the Cactus Trigger to fire my Sony Flash. The web site and the product guide says it works with the Sony flash. My experience is that it doesn't. I going to stick with using my Godox XT1s for now and send this unit back for a refund.Likes: small compactDislikes: didn't work as advertized

hot shoe broke after just over a year of very light use
HSS is great, worked with my a6000, was compatible with my other V5 transceivers (for non HSS operation). However, the V6's for Sony cameras uses a plastic hot shoe. Cactus refused to work with me since it was just over a year old.

Works flawlessly in combination with a Sony flash
Opposite to a 1* review I am using it for my Sony A7 and A7 mark II cameras flawlessly in combination with a Metz 44 AF-1 for Sony flash. You need two of them to work switching one as sender and the other as receiver. Then you can modify the flash's force on the sender easily by turning a wheel. There is only one remark: it is not working in TTL mode, but that's clearly remarked in the suppliers description. I am happy with it since it is a good replacement for Sony's own wireless trigger for about 40% of the costs. And you can also use it to trigger a professional studio flash (without remote force control) by using a cable on the receiver.I noticed that the flash is only triggered once the sender is mounted on camera's hot shoe and camera switched on.

Received mine today and I'm thoroughly pleased. I needed triggers that would permit HSS while using my Sony HVL-F43AM off camera. As an added bonus I really happy I can adjust power levels of the flas as well. Good show Cactus for taken care of us Sony shooters.

Now with Remote TTL
Great product. Well finished. Finally SONY users have a radio trigger with all functions like High Speed Sync (Normal HSS and Power Sync), remote control of flash power and head zoom, remote AF light, etc. Also the V6IIs includes features like the remote shutter (additional cable needed), Relay mode, Sport Shutter mode (Additional cable needed), etc.Great that the Firmware can be updated via USB cable. To avoid "zebra stripes" on HSS you need to turn off the e-Front electronic curtain.I am really happy with my units.Update June 2017:Yes, with the new X-TTL firmware (available at no extra charge) now you have remote TTL to your off-camera flashes.Notice that the TTL compatible Cactus flash is the RF-60X (Updated to the latest firmware version).Remote TTL is working like charm with SONY flashes. Also, you can mix TTL and Manual flashes on same arrangement. Just use different groups for TTL and Manual flashes.
