Whats the difference between long and short?

I am not certain but I think it relates to the length of the two locating pins at the bottom of the cartridge which locate the cartridge in the tap body. When looking for the replacement cartridge I clicked on the item and was offered 35mm long legs and 35mm short legs. I clicked on long legs and pictures of the item came up, one of which gave dimensions. I then did same with short legs and again got a set of pictures one of which gave dimensions which were totally different. I measured my faulty cartridge and compared to the pictures and it was obvious which was right so I bought that one. Perfect fit, job done. Hope this helps
