Delightful piece of musical history!
For anyone not familiar with the Comedian Harmonists, this 1930s German boy group have astonishing skills with harmonies, funny vocal effects (they're mostly a cappella except for the piano), and silly, poignant, or rousing lyrics. Great if you speak German, and you can find many of the lyrics online. I have a friend who doesn't speak German but still adores the Comedian Harmonists because of their clever arrangements. There are two films about the group, one a documentary and the other a dramatization of their career, and amazing story of brilliance and success until the Nazi movement cut it short. Some of the tracks were remastered for the film, and you can tell because the quality of the sound is better.

A FORGOTTEN WONDER
This volume belongs to a series of 5 CDs. It is difficult to understand why these artists, the 'Comedian Harmonists', have remained so forgotten. Such a clear forerunners of madrigal groups dealing in popular music (King's Singers, Swingle Singers, etc) this sextet adds to their technical domain the charms of the European 1930's song.

Diese Compilation ist sehr toll..leider nicht in cronologischer Reihenfolge, aber ansonsten Top!!! Es bleibt ansich kaum ein Wunsch offen. Was erwähnenswert ist: Es sind auf der 5. CD einige Lieder der nachfolge Gruppen Meistersextett und Comedy Harmonists drauf!

Eine Musik, die leider nur sehr selten im Radio gehört wird. Musiktitel, die nicht bekannt sind, werden dargeboten. Alles perfekt. Vielen Dank.
