How can this be adjusted to fit a 6 inch wrist without the bracelet being huge (is 8 1/2 inches)?

I bought it for my granddaughter and I bought her the smallest possible size, in that she was only 12 at the time. I’m positive it wasn’t an 8 1/2. Once she slipped the loop over the tail, it fit fine. No adjustment needed. Sorry, that I couldn’t be more help.

It multiplies with water. Just kidding. I don’t think there would be an issue with it getting wet.
