Is there an advantage to using product vs. the All Purpose 4-6-2 (with the tomato on the cover)?

Both of these Down To Earth Fertilizers are excellent and versatile in the garden, and they can both be used for a wide variety of garden plants. However, there is some difference in ideal target and application based simply on the nutrient makeup. While Down To Earth All Purpose 4-6-2 will work well for a wide variety of plants, it truly shines in situations where the plants require added phosphorus or calcium: fruiting plants such as tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, squash, and root crops. Down To Earth Vegetable Garden will also work well for the above plants, but it is shows best on plants that want growth without as many flowers or fruit: basil, lettuce, kale, broccoli, cabbage, etc. Thank you for your interest in Down To Earth All Natural Fertilizers

Is the application amount when topdressing the same for indoor grows as it is for outdoor contrainers?

It is not. The instructions on the box do a good job of letting you know how much to use for a container vs. crops in the ground.
