I haven’t read it yet 😅, actually just arrived today. But it is amazing! I went through the artwork, and the issues and I’m so excited. Ive been reading a lot of Jack Kirby and Stan Lee comics today online, which I’m not the biggest fan of doing, so actually having a psychical copy is amazing and I will %100 be reading, and buying the other mighty masterworks. The only reason I gave it 4/5 was because mine came a little damaged, and I payed extra for it to arrive on time. Not too big of damage, but still an ashame. Can’t wait to read tho!

I bought this book for my grandson who is in 1st grade and learning to read. I thought this exciting book would help him to want to read and that it would improve his reading.

The Marvel comics of the early 1960's were formative to people of a certain age, and still hold sway today in the field. Amongst the highest pantheon of 20th century artists belongs Jack "King" Kirby whose work is represented here, along with Don Heck who designed and drew the first iterations of Iron Man. You'll see that early Iron Man here, as well as Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Giant Man (Ant Man) and Wasp. 300 pages of dynamic figures with exaggerated poses and stretched perspective are a great resource for students of figure drawing. Note that you don't use Kirby as your 'only' resource for figure drawing, as by the early 1960's he had evolved a style which took liberties with anatomical correctness! But as a springboard for seeing and creating your own 'gesture drawings' they can hardly be beaten! Oh, and the first 10 issues of Avengers contained herein are still a great read! The paper stock is glossy and the panels have been digitally re-coloured in a simple style appropriate to the period, resulting in panels that really 'POP'!
