As the title of my review states, I have been using this particular Swingline stapler for 40 + years - and it is pretty much bullet-proof. It will jam up occasionally, as all staplers do, but when I smack it as hard as I can when it jams (glad you're not here to witness that in person when it happens), it just clears itself and keeps on going. I did that smack-job recently on a cheap stapler (that I just bought) when it jammed. It broke into 3 pieces instantly...then went directly into the trash bin. Don't waste your money on those el cheapo staplers. Spend a little more and get one that will last 20 years at least.

Swingline has always been my go-to stapler because they last forever and don't jam. Until this one. About the third use it started jamming. It continued jamming every few uses, which is frustrating when you need to finish a big project. Still looking for a reliable stapler.

Functionally as expected. Mostly metal construction. Seems solid. Rubber base. Branding on top is plastic. At first, I thought it wouldn't open all the way to staple on a bulletin board, but found that it is just designed with a small plastic stop to keep it from being floppy. you need to just open it all the way. It won't break that plastic stop. It's not red though. It is more of a dark pastel pink. Think Flamingo. Wanted a red one, but I suppose pink ones can staple things too.

Item arrived in an extremely shabby box. The item itself seems to be new, so I don’t know what’s going on there. The box seemed to be drenched in a strong, cheap-smelling perfume that got worse as I opened it. I didn’t realize the stapler doesn’t come with staples so I can’t comment about the item itself but the packaging was extremely unpleasant.
