These cards are of the typical high quality card stock that USPCC uses. They have an industrial design on the back that reminds me of pistons or an internal combustion engine. The ace of spades is beautiful, also with an industrial feel and worn metallic spade. Face cards are dull and lacking in color except for the suit, but beautifully detailed. Overall awesome deck of cards, and like most Theory11 decks.. a true piece of art. The rest of the cards are basic, but the suits are shown in vivid color. Jokers have what I will call a "mechanical frown".. you will see what I mean. Cool deck...

These cards feel good in the hand during play. They're a bit stiff right out of the box and need a few riffle shuffles to get a feel for. Not the easiest to faro among my decks but not difficult either, just needs a little bit of technique. To be fair, I'm not claiming to be great at shuffling cards. Design-wise, the tuck box looks good; gives a worn metal appearance like a well used industrial machine. The card backs are a different rendering of the tuck box back. The design here reminds me of highly detailed comic book art. However I prefer the look of the tuck box back to the card backs themselves. The jokers have the top portion of same "machine" as the card back but in a closed configuration. The art here is rendered as a pencil or charcoal drawing. The joker faces I also like better than the card backs. The Ace of Spades makes use of a piece of the same "machine" incorporated into a spade-like motif also rendered as charcoal or pencil art. This looks really good. Unfortunately all the other aces are standard playing card aces. Doubly unfortunate because the court cards also do not share the deck's overall industrial theme. They're just desaturated renders of standard court cards with some smudging. Are these good quality playing cards? Yes, worth at least 4 stars. Is the design/concept interesting? Yes, also worth 4 stars. But the overall execution was far from excellent. The tuck box was really nice. And the Jokers and Ace of Spades showed how well this theme could have been executed. But rest of the numbered cards were just standard cards. And the court cards, well, they looked like the belonged to a different deck. The lack of cohesion in design execution feels like a bit of a letdown. So 3 stars is honestly how I would rate it overall. I don't regret getting it because it does play well but more effort should have been put into the design of the cards. After all, people probably buy theory11 cards more for their artistry than their playability.

very quality deck, good for intermediate cardistry. Probably a bit too slippery for a beginner deck but if you have a little experience this is perfect
